In Pokémon GO, the Cartoon Week has started. We provide you with an overview of the spawns, the new raid bosses, and other changes.
This is the Cartoon Week: This event started this morning, on November 6th, and focuses on the Pokémon that appear in the anime series “Pokémon Journeys: The Series.”
With the start of the event, a lot has changed in the game, and Pokémon are appearing that are usually seen rarely. We provide you with an overview here.
Spawns and Eggs for the Cartoon Week
These are the spawns: Some interesting Pokémon are now appearing in the wild. Especially common are:
- Bulbasaur*
- Trubbish*
- Dratini*
- Pidgey*
- Paras
- Scyther*
- Pidove
- Pikachu with World Travel Cap*
- Cyndaquil*
- Wurmple*
All Pokémon marked with a star can also be encountered as Shiny.
In general, the spawns are quite interesting. With Pidgey, Trubbish, or Dratini, there are Pokémon that are rarely encountered outside of events. Here you can take good advantage of the Shiny chance.
Pikachu with World Travel Cap appears for the 2nd time in the game. If you don’t have a Shiny yet, you should try your luck.
What’s up with the eggs? During the event, there are altered 7km eggs. So far, there are only reports that exclusively event Pokémon hatch from them. Confirmed so far are:
- Pichu
- Trubbish
- Riolu
- Shinx
Especially Riolu sounds exciting here. After all, it is very rare in regular eggs, and if it appears more frequently now, you can expect better chances for a Shiny.
This is how you can meet Goh: Those who take snapshots in Pokémon GO will be surprised by Goh there. This character from the Pokémon anime appears exclusively there. As a reward, you will then have an encounter with Scyther. This is possible up to 5 times a day.
Raid Bosses for the Cartoon Week
These are the bosses: Different Pokémon also appear in the raids. They are mainly monsters that you encounter in the anime as well. Here we show you the complete list:
| Raid Level | Pokémon |
| Level-1 Raid (red egg) | Budew Dratini* Woingenau* Drifloon* Ralts* Shinx* Klink* |
| Level-3 Raid (yellow egg) | Alolan Exeggutor* Alolan Marowak* Snorlax Pinsir* Golgantes |
| Mega Raid (red-white egg) | Mega Charizard X* Mega Charizard Y* Mega Blastoise* Mega Pidgeot* Mega Gengar* Mega Houndoom* |
| Level-5 Raid (black egg) | Lugia* |
Since November 5th, you can find Lugia in Pokémon GO in the legendary raids. It will remain in the raids until November 16th and will then be replaced by 3 legendary bosses.
To defeat Lugia as effectively as possible, we show you the best counters here:

Is the event worth it? There are no real bonuses during the event. Only the spawns and the raid bosses have noticeably changed. Additionally, there is a special research.
If you still need Shinies from the spawns, you can be happy. Purely in terms of usability, the spawns are not really strong.
If you don’t really like this event, you can look forward to Season 5 in PvP:
