The Community Day with Abra in Pokémon GO has been postponed indefinitely. Niantic announced this and cited the novel coronavirus as the reason.
What was announced? The coronavirus is also hitting Pokémon GO hard. In addition to various measures aimed at making playing from home easier, there is also the cancellation of the Community Day.
Initially, the event was supposed to take place this Sunday, but Niantic has canceled the Community Day. Infected individuals should not be incentivized to go outside.
Community Day with Abra canceled – When will the replacement be?
Is there already a rescheduled date? So far, the cancellation is indefinite. There is no new date yet because it is unclear how the coronavirus crisis will develop.
When could the Community Day take place? Currently, various federal states in Germany are canceling major events. Other countries worldwide are following suit. Most cancellations apply until mid or late April.
It’s quite possible that Niantic is taking a similar approach. The Community Day is unlikely to take place in March. We will have to wait and see if we will have two Community Days in a month instead.
How can you use the day on Sunday instead?
If you have already cleared your day for Sunday, you don’t have to go without Pokémon GO. There are plenty of alternatives you can do from home.
Here’s what you can do from home: Currently, the PvP League is particularly interesting. It officially starts the first season on March 13 at 10 PM. So be sure to check out our Tier List for each league and get your victory. As a reward, the legendary Pokémon Giratina is among the prizes.
Otherwise, you can benefit from an hour of incense. You can purchase 30 incense in a box for one PokéCoin, which will last for an hour each.
Otherwise, use the time at home to sort your Pokémon and send away unused monsters. Alternatively, you can evolve them with a Lucky Egg and rack up some extra XP.
Those with a few spawn points outside will currently encounter many fighting Pokémon:
