Today the “Bug Crabby” event begins in Pokémon GO. We will show you what monsters to expect, what bonuses are available, and which Shinies may appear.
What kind of event is it? The “Bug Crabby” is an event that has also taken place in the past in Pokémon GO. Unsurprisingly, bug-type monsters are the focus here.
When does the event take place? The Bug Crabby event starts on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 10:00 AM local time and ends on August 16, 2022, at 8:00 PM. You have a little less than a week to take advantage of the event.
What are the highlights of the event? The Bug event brings, among other things, new monsters and various bonuses, and it has been improved further by the unlocked Hyperbonus.
Highlights include:
- The debut of Mabula and its evolutions
- Icognito T in the raids – also as Shiny
- The regional monster Vegimak is in raids and the wild
- Mega-Scizor and Genesect are in the raids
- A big catching challenge – We will show you all the rewards
We will give you a closer look at the content here.
All spawns and shinies for the Bug Crabby event
During the Bug Crabby event, you can expect altered spawns in the wild, and there will also be a slight change to the raid pool. Additionally, plenty of bugs will also appear in field research.
New monster: Particularly exciting is the Pokémon “Mabula”, which makes its debut in Pokémon GO. You can evolve it into Akkup and Donarion.
New shiny: During the event, the monster “Toxiped” will also be available in its shiny form. Here you can expand your shiny collection if you’re lucky.
Regional monster: The regional monkey Vegimak now also appears worldwide. If you don’t have it yet, you should catch it – the shiny version is also available.
New Icognito: The Icognito “T” appears in raid battles and can also show up as a shiny specimen.
New Mega monster: Mega-Scizor appears in raids. It is particularly vulnerable to fire but has few other weaknesses. A shiny version is also available here.
You can find all strong counters against Mega-Scizor here.

Here you will need to catch many bugs. As a reward, there will be items, Pokémon encounters, and Mega energy for Scizor.
In addition, there will be a collector challenge. If you complete it, you will receive 15,000 XP and the Bug Collector pose.
