Data miners have found information about a possible major update to Pokémon GO where you can form a bond like Ash and Pikachu.
New information from data mining in Pokémon GO is making trainers’ hearts race. According to PokémonGOHub there is a so-called “Buddy System” in the game’s code that allows trainers to form a stronger connection with their favorite Pokémon. Similar to Ash and Pikachu, the favorite Pokémon will not be in the PokéBall during your adventures but will accompany you outside.
Pokémon Candies as Rewards
Data mining involves a detailed analysis of the various data and codes of a game. There were already indications of a trading feature and the possibility to catch legendary Pokémon. Latest information reports about the Buddy System that is supposed to appear in the code. With this feature, it is possible to choose a favorite Pokémon that will accompany you for a certain period on your adventures. As a reward, you will receive candies for that specific Pokémon while walking.
This system is particularly important for trainers who need candies for rare Pokémon in Pokémon GO. These candies are required to evolve a Pokémon. So far, you can only get these candies by catching a Pokémon. For rare Pokémon, it can take quite a long time to gather enough of them to evolve a Pokémon. Additionally, PokémonGOHub reports that the buddies can have various sizes and positions in the game:
- Buddy_Medium, Buddy_Shoulder, Buddy_Big, Buddy_Flying
One should always take data mining with caution. It provides insight into what might happen in the future with a game. When and whether this will ever happen cannot be said. Currently, there is also no official statement from Niantic about whether such a feature is planned or will be implemented in the near future. The Buddy System would make the game interesting again. Especially trainers who want to evolve rare Pokémon could benefit from this system.
