What kind of event is this? The event “Quiet Retreat” is one of the 3 events that were recently announced in Pokémon GO, each bringing 1 Gigantamax Pokémon and an increased shiny chance for 2 monsters.
It starts on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 10:00 AM and runs until Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 8:00 PM.

Which Gigantamax monster is making its debut? In the event, you can defeat and catch Gortrom for the first time in its Gigantamax form. The monster is available from Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 6:00 AM until Sunday, June 1, 2025 at 9:00 PM. You will find it in 6-star Dyna battles.
Which Pokémon have an increased shiny chance? Throughout the event, you will have an increased chance to encounter the shiny variants of Somniam and Bubungus. You can hatch Somniam from 2 km eggs and receive it as a reward from field research. Bubungus can be found in the wild and also received as a reward from field research.
What bonuses are there in the event? Besides the increased shiny chance, there are also the following bonuses in the event:
- halved distance when hatching eggs
- 1.5 times XP when hatching eggs
- the collection limit for Dyna particles is increased to 1,600
- 8 times Dyna particles from power sources
