What features are involved? With the release of the primal forms of Dialga and Palkia, adventure effects have also been introduced in Pokémon GO. These are special temporary bonuses that you can secure for selected Pokémon by activating the corresponding charge move outside of battles.
This way, you can activate an extended timer with primal Dialga using the attachment Time Noise
and thus benefit from longer durations of incense, stardust, and lucky egg. Primal Palkia allows you to expand the vicinity for spawns with Space Strike

Now, according to the Pokémon GO blog, two new adventure effects of this kind will come through Necrozma (Dusk Mane) and Necrozma (Dawn Wings). How you can activate them and what they bring you in return, we have summarized below.
Get new moves & adventure effects through Necrozma
What kind of Pokémon is Necrozma? The legendary Psychic Pokémon Necrozma celebrates its global debut as part of the global GO Fest. Previously, it was only available at live events in Sendai, Madrid, and New York. It comes from the 7th game generation and, according to legend, feeds on light, which is why it utilizes the powers of the two legendary Pokémon Solgaleo and Lunala.
For this reason, during the GO Fest in Pokémon GO, you can not only catch it in level 5 raids, but it can also change its form by fusing with Solgaleo or Lunala. This not only allows you to benefit from a strong attacker but also gives you the opportunity to activate two new adventure effects: Steel Constellation and Shadow Beam.
How can you secure Steel Constellation and Shadow Beam?
How to get Steel Constellation and Shadow Beam: If you want to secure the two new adventure effects, you must first catch a Necrozma and fuse it for its form Dusk Mane
with Solgaleo or for Dawn Wings
with Lunala. In addition to the respective Pokémon, you also need the following items:
- Solgaleo: 1,000 Solar Fusion Energy, 30 Necrozma Candies, and 30 Cosmog Candies
- Lunala: 1,000 Lunar Fusion Energy, 30 Necrozma Candies, and 30 Cosmog Candies
You will receive the respective fusion energy from raids or as a ticket holder as part of the special research for the GO Fest. Moreover, you can already get first fusion energy through corresponding promo codes.
Once you have performed the fusion, Necrozma now learns the following charge moves:
- Necrozma (Dusk Mane): Steel Constellation
- Necrozma (Dawn Wings): Shadow Beam
You can also activate these moves outside of a battle to benefit from additional bonuses. To do this, you need to scroll down in the overview of your respective monster. There you will find the option to use the move as an adventure effect.
Activating the moves costs you 3,000 stardust and 3 Necrozma candies each. After that, the bonuses are active for 10 minutes. By using the items again, you can stack this effect and extend the respective bonus to up to 24 hours.
Can you combine the effects with others? No, you can only activate one adventure effect at a time. Only when it ends can you activate a new one. Furthermore, with the two adventure effects Steel Constellation and Shadow Beam, it is not possible to simultaneously use incense, adventure incense, the wonder box, and the coin pouch.
Can Necrozma learn the moves via TM? No, learning the two moves via charge TM or elite charge TM is currently not possible.
All bonuses of Steel Constellation and Shadow Beam
What bonuses do Steel Constellation and Shadow Beam bring? With Steel Constellation and Shadow Beam, you can initially secure a strong charge move for each, which deals a lot of damage in battles. With both moves, you can benefit from the following values:
- 135 damage in trainer battles
- 230 damage in raids and gym battles
If you activate the adventure effect outside of battles, you will receive special spawns for that time. These are marked on the map by a special colored circle and contain a corresponding symbol in the catch screen.
All spawns at Steel Constellation (Necrozma Dusk Mane): Once you have activated the adventure effect Steel Constellation, you utilize sunlight and receive the following wild Pokémon that usually only spawn during the day:
- Pidgey
- Alolan Exeggutor
- Solrock
- Swablu
- Goomy
- Barboach
- Mangoleon
- Rockruff
- Flabébé
Additionally, during this time, you can also evolve monsters that can only evolve during the day and, with a bit of luck, encounter Rockruff, which you can evolve into Lycanroc (Midnight Form).
All spawns at Shadow Beam (Necrozma Dawn Wings): With the adventure effect Shadow Beam, you instead utilize the power of the moon. During this time, you attract wild Pokémon that are usually more active at night:
- Alolan Rattata
- Clefairy
- Alolan Marowak
- Hoothoot
- Galarian Zigzagoon
- Lunatone
- Comfey
- Amarillo
- Rockruff
Here too, you may encounter Rockruff, which can evolve into Lycanroc (Midnight Form), as well as evolve your monsters where this is only possible at night.
