In Pokémon GO 2 monsters receive new adventure effects. We will show you which ones they are and how to obtain them.
What are adventure effects? Adventure effects are attacks by Pokémon that you can also use outside of battles. For a certain period of time, you will receive an effect that gives you advantages. In 2024, the effects were first introduced with Origin Dialga and Origin Palkia.
With Zacian and Zamazenta, there are now 2 new monsters that each receive an adventure effect. These enhance your monsters in raids and in Dynamax battles.
How the new adventure effects work
How do I receive the new adventure effects? To obtain the new adventure effects, you need to perform a form change with Zacian or Zamazenta. The energy required for this can be obtained on June 28 and 29, 2025, at the global GO Fest 2025 by defeating both monsters in raids.
If your Zacian has the charged attack Iron Head, it will change to Giga Impact when you change forms. If you change the form of Zamazenta, the charged attack Iron Head will become the new attack Giga Crash. These are the charged attacks that can also be utilized as adventure effects.
What do the effects provide? If you use the adventure effect Giga Impact from Zacian, the attacks of your Pokémon will be enhanced for 6 minutes. This effect applies in both raids and Dynamax battles.
If you activate the Giga Crash from Zamazenta, the defense of your Pokémon will increase for 6 minutes. This effect also applies in both raids and Dynamax battles.
How can I use the effects? If you have transformed Zacian or Zamazenta into the form King of the Sword or King of the Shield and possess the corresponding charged attack, you will additionally need Stardust and candies of the respective Pokémon.
For each 6 minutes of effect duration, you will need 5,000 Stardust and 5 candies of the respective Pokémon.
With the previous adventure effects that are active in the game, it is possible to use the effect multiple times consecutively to increase the maximum duration. It is to be expected that this will also be the case for the two new adventure effects.
