In Pokémon GO the Dynamax debut of a legendary monster has been announced. However, you only have 2 days to obtain it.
While there are hundreds of monsters and countless legendary variants in Pokémon GO, the selection of Dynamax monsters is still relatively limited. Therefore, there are Pokémon that celebrate their debut in this form again and again.
The next Dynamax monster has now been announced. If you want to obtain it, you need to hurry a bit.
Dyna Battle Weekend with Strong Attacker
What kind of monster is this? It is the legendary monster Ho-Oh from Generation 2. It will be available in 5-star Dynamax raids during a Dyna Battle Weekend from Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 6:00 AM to Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 9:00 PM.
As Ho-Oh is a strong Fire-type attacker, the monster could be a great addition to your Dyna teams.
You can also obtain the monster as shiny. However, the chances of this are not additionally increased.
What bonuses are there in the event? During the Dyna Battle Weekend, the following bonuses are active in the game:
- The collection limit for Dyna particles will be increased to 1,600
- 1/4 of the usual walking distance needed to obtain Dyna particles
- Power sources refresh more frequently
- 8 times the amount of Dyna particles from power sources
What limited research is available? Already before the event, starting Monday, January 26, 2026, at 6:00 AM, you will receive a free limited research task. You have until Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 9:00 PM to complete it.
There you will receive a Dynamax Kabuto and candies for the monster as rewards. You can also snag Dyna particles here.
For $4.99 (approximately €5), you can also purchase an event ticket. This will grant you another limited research task in which you receive 6,400 Dyna particles and 25,000 experience points. Additionally, ticket holders will earn double experience points for Dyna battles during the event, as well as more candies and XL candies when participating in 5-star Dyna battles.
When will the monster return? Typically, monsters in Pokémon GO are rotated back into the game at some point. When that will happen for Dynamax Ho-Oh is currently not known. If you want to have the attacker, you should take advantage of the event to secure it.
