In Pokémon GO the very first Weather Week starts next week. It brings Shiny Formeo in the Rain Form, the Therian Form of Voltolos, and a Stardust bonus. We show you the details of the Weather Event on MeinMMO.
What has been announced? The Weather Week in Pokémon GO is said to be an event that will occur regularly. The bonuses and Pokémon will relate to the current weather. The first event brings the important Therian Form of Voltolos into the game, along with shiny Formeo in the Rain Form.

Spawns, Raids, and Shiny in the Weather Week
When does the event take place? The Weather Week starts in Pokémon GO on Wednesday, March 24, at 10:00 AM and runs until Monday, March 29, at 8:00 PM local time.
How spawns will change: Generally, Formeo appears more frequently in the wild. In stormy weather or rain, Wingull and Piccolente appear. Those lucky enough might encounter Shiny Formeo in the Rain Form for the first time.
From the start of the event until March 27 at 10:00 AM, Pokémon like Aquana, Loturzel, or Flunschlick that prefer rain will appear more frequently.
From March 27 at 10:00 AM until the end of the event, Pokémon that enjoy stormy weather will appear more frequently. This includes Panzaeron, Schwalbini, and Dusselgurr.
What’s in 5-km eggs: From 5-km eggs that you receive during the event, the following Pokémon can hatch: Enton, Quapsel, Wablu, Driftlon, Mantirps, Schallquap, and Piccolente.
Who will you meet in raids? Corresponding to the event, the bosses you encounter in the various difficulty levels of raids will change. Not all bosses have been confirmed yet. We show you here which ones Niantic has already mentioned:

New Shiny: For the shiny hunters among you, the Weather Week will be exciting. You already know Formeo in Pokémon GO, but the Shiny Rain Form will likely be the shiny highlight of the Weather Week. In the following graphic, we show you the normal Rain Form and its shiny variant:
The Stardust Bonus
How does it work? The Stardust bonus affects the catches of Pokémon. However, this only counts for Pokémon with weather boost. If you catch Pokémon with weather enhancement during the event, you will receive “additional” Stardust for them. How much additional Stardust you get is still unclear.
How good will the event be?
What Niantic says: In the announcement, Niantic writes, “Look forward to the very first Weather Week, during which Pokémon that enjoy rain and storms will appear more frequently in the wild.” The fact that they mention the “very first” indicates that more will follow in the future.
For shiny hunters: You can expect a new shiny that you can primarily find in the rain. So take advantage of the “bad” weather if you want to catch the shiny.
The new Voltolos: The Therian Form of Voltolos is stronger than its Incarnate Form. Just a few days ago, data miners found new information about its moveset. With its high attack value, Voltolos in the Therian Form deals a lot of damage. However, its low DEF and STA values mean that it doesn’t last long in battles.
