The new monsters for the Water Festival
Kapu-Kime
Kapu-Kime is a legendary Pokémon of Water and Fairy type. It is the guardian of the Alola Island Poni and has no pre-evolutions or evolutions. Starting today, May 10, and throughout the Water Festival, you can encounter Kapu-Kime for the first time in Level 5 raids. Here you can find the best counters against Kapu-Kime.
You can recognize the Pokémon by its slim black body, long bluish hair, and fin-like hands. Its delicate body is protected by a purple shell, similar to the other guardians of the Alola Islands. However, the Shiny variant of the legendary monster will not be available in the game for now.
Araqua and Aranestro
Another debut at the Water Festival is celebrated by the Water and Bug Pokémon Araqua and its evolution Aranestro, which also comes from the Alola region. During the event, you can encounter Araqua in the wild and through field researches. With the help of 50 candies, you can evolve it into Aranestro.
You can recognize the new Pokémon by its neon-colored, spider-like body. It has a relatively large head that is enclosed by a bubble.
Its evolution is somewhat larger than Araqua, but can also be recognized by its distinctive spider-like appearance, neon-colored legs, and the bubble on its head. As Shinys, both monsters will not initially be available in the game.
Lapras with Scarf and Shiny Bithora
In addition to the three new Pokémon from the Alola region, you can also look forward to Lapras with a blue-striped scarf, tied like a bow. The costumed Pokémon was discovered several days ago in a data mine and caused a lot of excitement among trainers.
Some players have long eagerly awaited the special Lapras with the scarf. It can be found in Level 3 raids and in field researches. With a bit of luck, you might even encounter a Shiny specimen.
Moreover, Bithora will celebrate its Shiny debut at the Water Festival in Pokémon GO. The Rock and Water Pokémon from Generation 6 can be found during the event in the wild and in field researches, but it can also hatch from eggs. You can recognize it by its red and white striped body and the green leaves above its head.
