In February, the Johto Tour will take place in Pokémon GO. In addition to numerous monsters and bonuses, you can also look forward to special attacks. We at MeinMMO have looked at which attacks the trainers suspect and which ones they would like to see.
What is the Johto Tour? At the end of February, an event around the Johto region will take place in Pokémon GO This event is called the Johto Tour. On the evening of December 7th, Niantic released the first information about it. So you can look forward to numerous Pokémon and bonuses for this event.
In addition, Niantic announced further details on the event page of the Johto Tour, which also promise special attacks for individual monsters (via pokemongolive.com). This has led to some speculation in the reddit community.
Special Attacks for the Johto Tour
Which monsters will receive special attacks? Even though you can encounter all monsters from this region during the Johto Tour, only a part of these Pokémon will receive a special attack. You can look forward to their typical event attacks from previous Community Days for Meganie, Tornupto, Impergator, Despotar, Nachtara, Psiana, and Mamutel.
Looking at these corresponding Community Days, the mentioned monsters are expected to receive the following attacks during the Johto Tour:

But those were not all the monsters that will receive a special attack for this event. The two legendary Pokémon from the Johto region, Lugia and Ho-Oh, as well as the mysterious Pokémon Celebi will also be equipped with a special attack. However, which attack that will be is still unknown.
Community Wishes for Ho-Oh and Lugia
Even though the event attacks for Lugia and Ho-Oh are not yet known, the trainers in the reddit community are already speculating about which attacks those could be.
Teban54 suspects in his reddit post that Ho-Oh could receive the move “Läuterfeuer” and Lugia the attack “Luftstoß” (via reddit.com). The basis for his assumption is that the moves “Läuterfeuer” and “Zauberblatt” have recently appeared in the game code.
Other trainers are also convinced in the comments about this choice of attacks and write:

- krispyboiz: “I am confident that we will eventually receive Läuterfeuer this season.” (via reddit.com)
What kind of attack is that? Many trainers are also asking in the comments what kind of attack “Läuterfeuer” is and how strong it will be.
As Teban54 explains in the comments, “Läuterfeuer” is an attack by Ho-Oh from the main series games (via reddit.com). So far, this attack has not been available in Pokémon GO, which is why it cannot yet be said how strong it actually is in the game.
However, other players are still not sure if this attack will actually be introduced for the Johto event. Caio_Go suspects that Ho-Oh could also receive “Erdbeben” (via reddit.com).
Speculations about Celebi’s Attack
But trainers have already made a first guess about Celebi as well. Kingnorris42 writes, “I suspect that ‘Zauberblatt’ will be the special attack Celebi will receive given the timing. That’s certainly cool, but hopefully it won’t be exclusive to Celebi; many Pokémon could really use it, assuming they have good stats” (via reddit.com).
Other reddit users speculate that especially Shaymin and Viridiummight benefit from such an attack (via reddit.com). However, both will not play a role in the Johto Tour as these monsters are native to other regions. Additionally, Sharmin is currently not available in the game.
What kind of attack is that? “Zauberblatt” is a Grass-type attack that is also not yet found in Pokémon GO. Some trainers are hoping for a good move for the PvP League. However, how strong the attack will ultimately be in Pokémon GO cannot yet be determined.
Whether Ho-Oh, Lugia, and Celebi will actually receive these attacks also remains to be seen. As soon as Niantic announces the respective event attacks, you will find out here on MeinMMO.
