In Pokémon GO the Kanto Tour started on Saturday morning. However, players were plagued by problems. The developers are planning another event for you.
This is what happened: Months ago, Niantic announced the big Kanto Tour. Trainers can catch all 151 Pokémon that were first found in the Kanto region as Shiny during this event for the first time. There will be special Kanto raids and the spawns will change hourly.
But right from the start, the mood was dampened. Some trainers who bought the ticket for €12 could initially not participate in the event. They were locked out and could not complete important research.
Niantic has now finally announced a replacement event. What we know so far, we will show you here on MeinMMO.
In recent months, Niantic has already held several replacement events because there were problems during the events. If these problems are severe, the developers bring bonus events as compensation.
In August 2020, Niantic held a compensation event for 3 hours. This was only for players who purchased a ticket for the GO Fest.
For the broken Dragon Week, Niantic also held a replacement event.
After major problems at the Safari Zone in Dortmund in 2018, Niantic held a replacement event in Europe.
Replacement Event for Kanto Tour Coming
This is what Niantic says: On Twitter, Niantic’s support writes that they will hold an additional event. This event will take place for the players who purchased a ticket for the Kanto Tour.
Details on when the event will take place, how long it will last, and what bonuses will be activated are still unclear. It is possible that Niantic is planning another 12-hour event day and will repeat everything. However, it may also just be the first hours of the event where the most problems occurred that will be repeated.

What problems occurred? Trainers both with and without tickets reported issues. Some could not access the Today’s overview and were interrupted with the message that they needed a ticket for that. This affects trainers who did not purchase a ticket and just want to play. But even trainers with tickets could not access the overview or complete their quests.
MeinMMO reader Dion00 writes: “I have the problem as a player without a ticket that when I want to view my challenges (magnifying glass symbol), the message appears: Raid ongoing, I should choose red or green, no matter what you select, an error message later appears.
You can close the message and come back, is this a bug or intentional?!”
Additionally, trainers complained about app crashes. In between, the PvP League was also unavailable.
Rarely, it even happened that players who actually did not purchase a ticket suddenly had one in their inventory.
