Pokémon GO has reactivated its Battle League. However, there have been some changes in the PvP battles. We will show you what’s new.
What’s new? Niantic announced on the evening of June 23 that the GO Battle League is back. This is the PvP mode of Pokémon GO, where trainers compete directly with three Pokémon each.
For over a week, this battle league was deactivated. It went offline on June 13, because players were cheating to get to rank 1.
The major changes in the PvP League
This has changed: For Season 2, which is currently running in the PvP League of Pokémon GO, the developers have implemented a few changes.
- More daily sets: Instead of 5, you can do 6 sets per day. This change will remain throughout Season 2.
- Improved rewards for one week – From June 23 at 10:00 PM until June 30 at 10:00 PM
- The Pokémon encounters will change in the basic and premium paths. Serpifeu, Floink, and Ottaro are no longer available as encounters in the GO Battle League.
- On the premium path, the special candies will be available as early as the fourth place of the rewards, instead of the fifth.
In addition, the ranking of the GO Battle League is now deactivated and will remain so. The developers are keeping an eye on the league. After the recent exploit issues, they likely do not want to reactivate the ranking too early.
The new schedule of the PvP League in Season 2
This is changing as well: Besides the in-game changes in PvP, the dates have also been adjusted.
- The Hyper League runs until July 6 at 10:00 PM.
- The Master League and the Premium Cup run from July 6 at 10:00 PM until July 20 at 10:00 PM.
- All leagues and the Premium Cup run from July 20 at 10:00 PM until July 27 at 10:00 PM.
When does Season 3 start? Right after the last league event, Season 3 will start. On July 27 at 10:00 PM, the new season begins for you.
This week, the next event in Pokémon GO will start. 3 things you shouldn’t miss during the Bug Catching event.
