Necrozma is now appearing for the first time at the GO Fest in Sendai, in Pokémon GO. How can you catch it if you’re not in Japan?

Necrozma is one of the stars of this year’s Pokémon GO Fests. There are three local dates and one global date.
The first local date in Sendai, Japan, is currently running and will take place until June 2. Trainers can now encounter Necrozma in raids there. The event is basically the first major Pokémon GO event in June, although not for everyone.
But how do you get Necrozma in the rest of the world?
Catching Necrozma via Remote Raid – is that possible?
Is remote raiding possible? Currently, it is possible to participate in Necrozma raids through remote raid passes as long as they are active. Once you are in a raid, you can catch it.
Restriction: Necrozma can also appear as shiny, but only if you have an active ticket for the Sendai GO Fest. So don’t get your hopes up for a shiny Necrozma when participating in the remote raid.
The big problem: It is currently quite difficult to get into remote raids for Necrozma.
The easiest way is to have a local contact who already plays. These trainers can simply invite you if you are friends with them.
Another option is external raid apps like PokéGenie or PokéRaids. However, the opportunities for participation are quite limited at the moment. Some invitation slots are already fully booked, or raid participations are behind certain premium memberships. You need to see if you get lucky and catch a raid.
Another option would be to check social media. Some trainers post friend codes on platforms like Twitter and say they would invite people. But luck is also needed here to make it work.
Otherwise, the remaining GO Fests or, certainly, the global event are still options.
Which dates still bring Necrozma?
When will Necrozma be available to everyone? Globally, Necrozma will appear on July 13 and 14, 2024, during the global GO Fest. You can then secure the Pokémon in raids there.
When will Necrozma appear before that? At two other local GO Fests. However, the same conditions apply as in Sendai.
- June 14 to 16, 2024: GO Fest Madrid
- July 5 to 7: GO Fest New York
But here, too, you would have to travel and possibly buy a ticket to have a chance at the shiny. At least, during these dates, you can also hope for a remote raid invitation.
