In April, the Community Day Classic featuring Pokémon GO will take place with Kinderwurm. What to expect there and who it is worth attending for.
What kind of event is this? The Community Day Classic is an event that closely resembles the regular Community Day. There is a Pokémon that is the focus, appearing almost everywhere in the wild for a period of 3 hours. The chance to encounter a Shiny version is also significantly increased during this time.
While the regular Community Day always features a new Pokémon, the Community Day Classic highlights a Pokémon that has already appeared in a regular Community Day. After recent hints about the next Community Day Classic, it has now been confirmed.
What kind of Pokémon is this? Kinderwurm, a Dragon-type Pokémon from Generation 3, will be the star of the Community Day Classic in April 2024.
When is the event? The Community Day Classic featuring Kinderwurm will take place on Sunday, April 7th, 2024, from 14:00 to 17:00.
What bonuses does the Community Day Classic with Kinderwurm bring?
While the event is running, the following bonuses will be available in the game for you.
- Kinderwurm appears everywhere in the wild
- The Shiny rate for Kinderwurm is significantly increased
- If you evolve Brutalanda, the final evolution of Kinderwurm, during the event, it will learn the charged move

- Triple experience points for catching Pokémon
- Incense and Lure Modules last for 3 hours when activated during the event (does not apply to Adventure Incense)
- Snapshot surprises with Kinderwurm
- Showcases with Kinderwurm

Who should attend the Community Day Classic with Kinderwurm?
For fighters: Brutalanda, the final evolution of Kinderwurm, is one of the strongest Dragon-type attackers in Pokémon GO. So if you are still looking for strong additions to your Dragon attackers, the Community Day may be worth it for you, as you can catch many Kinderwurm and gather a large amount of candy for the Pokémon.
The exclusive charged move Wutanfall, which Brutalanda can learn during evolution in the event, is also the best charged move Brutalanda has as a Dragon attacker.
Interestingly, the Shadow version of the Pokémon is even stronger than the normal version of Brutalanda. You can currently find it with one of the Rocket bosses and collect the corresponding candies during the Community Day.
In terms of battle leagues, Kinderwurm and its evolutions are less worthwhile. They should not be used in either the Great and Ultra Leagues or in the Master League.
For collectors: If you haven’t been able to catch Kinderwurm and its evolutions in your Pokédex yet, this event is the perfect opportunity to do so. Even if you are still missing the Shiny variants, you should be able to catch them quite easily at the event.
For leveling up: If you are currently gathering experience points in Pokémon GO, the event may also be worth it for you. With the combination of triple experience points for catching Pokémon and the large number of Kinderwurm appearing during the event, you can quickly accumulate many experience points.
