In Pokémon GO the 8th season of the Battle League starts on Monday evening, May 31, 2021. There, you can secure the new Pokémon Lin-Fu as a reward.
What kind of Pokémon is this? Lin-Fu is known as the “Martial Arts Pokémon” and comes from the fifth generation of games. Unsurprisingly, it belongs to the Fighting type. It can evolve into Wie-Shu, which is also a Fighting Pokémon.
How to get Lin-Fu: Lin-Fu and Wie-Shu will be introduced with the start of the 8th season of the Battle League in Pokémon GO. The new season starts on Monday, May 31, 2021, at 10:00 PM – from this point, the Pokémon will be available.
You will have a guaranteed encounter with Lin-Fu if you reach the fifth rank in the new season. If you continue to fight afterwards, you can encounter Lin-Fu more times at higher ranks and collect candies for evolving it into Wie-Shu.
In the wild, you will not encounter Lin-Fu for now. However, it is assumed that it will also be obtainable through other means than the Battle League in the future – just like it was the case with Pokémon like Zurrokex.
How the 8th season of the Battle League will run
What to expect: If you want to secure a Lin-Fu, you can also look forward to more rewards in the new Battle League season. As usual, it is divided into multiple leagues that alternate.
- The Super League runs from May 31, 2021 (10:00 PM) to June 14 (10:00 PM).
- The Hyper League and the corresponding Premier Cup run from June 14 (10:00 PM) to June 28 (10:00 PM).
- The Master League, Master League Classic, and the Element Cup run from June 28 (10:00 PM) to July 12 (10:00 PM).
- Afterwards, the Super League and the Super League Remix with changed requirements will run from July 12 (10:00 PM) to July 26 (10:00 PM).
- The Hyper League and the Hyper League Remix will run from July 26, 2021 (10:00 PM) to August 9, 2021 (10:00 PM).
- Master League, Master League Remix, and another Premier Cup will follow on Monday, August 9 (10:00 PM), until August 23 (10:00 PM). During this time, you will also earn double Stardust for victories and battle sets.
- From August 23 to August 20 (each at 10:00 PM), all three leagues will be active again.
In addition, there will be several battle nights with triple Stardust. During these nights, you can complete 20 battle sets instead of 5. They will take place on:
- June 3, 2021, 6:00 PM to 11:59 PM
- July 11, 2021, 6:00 PM to 11:59 PM
- August 26, 2021, 6:00 PM to 11:59 PM
What rewards are there? In addition to a guaranteed encounter with Lin-Fu at rank five, you can also encounter many other Pokémon and win cosmetics for your avatar. Possible encounters include:
- Machoke at rank 1
- Panzaeron, Zurrokex, or Geronimatz from rank 15
- Legendary Pokémon from the current raids at rank 20 and above
- Kaumalat from the Veteran rank
- Kapuno from the Expert rank
- A Wrestler Pikachu at the Legend rank
Additionally, there are many other Pokémon like Machoke, Ariados, Zobiris, Toxiquak, Flunschlik, or Quabbel that fill the encounter pool at various ranks.
Furthermore, you can receive a Charged TM at rank 19 of the Battle League, which allows you to select a new move for one of your Pokémon – even special event moves are available.
