Today, the Valentine’s Day event starts in Pokémon GO and brings you numerous spawns and bonuses along with new special quests. We at MeinMMO have looked at what these tasks entail and reveal which rewards are particularly worthwhile.
What kind of tasks are there? When you spin the PokéStops in Pokémon GO, you will receive so-called Field Research tasks. You can complete these and earn rewards in the form of items, Stardust, or encounters with specific Pokémon.
On the occasion of the current Valentine’s Day event, you can look forward to 6 special Field Researches. Below, we will show you all the contents of the tasks and which ones you should definitely not miss.
How long can you receive the event tasks? The event quests are available throughout the entire Valentine’s Day event. You will receive them from February 10, 2022, at 10:00 AM local time until February 14, 2022, at 8:00 PM local time.
Here are the 6 new quests for the Valentine’s Day event
During the Valentine’s Day event, there will be 6 more special quests for the Field Research in February. The following tasks and rewards are waiting for you (via leekduck.com):

This Pokémon is really worth it
The most interesting of these tasks is landing 5 great Curveball throws in a row, because you will receive an encounter with Lickitung (Heart Pattern).
What kind of Pokémon is Lickitung? Lickitung is a Normal-type Pokémon from Generation 3. It has no pre-evolution or evolution, and its stats are rather poor.
So why is this monster so special? Lickitung belongs to the somewhat rarer Pokémon in the game. It is usually only obtainable by completing Field Research tasks. However, it requires some luck to find an appropriate quest at a PokéStop. Additionally, it requires throwing skill to complete the task successfully.
Moreover, there are a total of 9 different fur patterns for Lickitung. In February, you will regularly find Lickitung with the fur pattern No. 4. However, during the Valentine’s Day event, you can now also encounter another of its patterns: the Heart Design.
This shows Lickitung with a pink heart over its eye. In its shiny variant, however, it has another special feature for you. Unlike its other fur patterns, which are green when shiny, the heart in the shiny Valentine’s Day variant is also broken.
If you have not yet caught this special specimen in your Pokédex, you should not miss this opportunity.
How can you recognize this special quest? Since Lickitung will be available during the event in both fur color 4 and with Heart Design, the question arises as to how you can distinguish the quests from one another. Pay attention to the note “Event” in your field view on the tasks. This indicates that it is the Valentine’s Day version. You can access the field view by clicking on the binoculars.
