The Community Day in February 2025 at Pokémon GO focuses on two Pokémon. They are Schnuthelm and Laukaps – what can they do?
When does the Community Day take place? The Community Day with Schnuthelm and Laukaps will take place on Sunday, February 9, 2025. It starts at 2:00 PM and ends at 5:00 PM.
Which Pokémon? The two Pokémon of the day are Schnuthelm and Laukaps. Both are special Pokémon: If you evolve Schnuthelm into Hydragil or Laukaps into Cavalanzas, you need to use 200 candies. However, you can bypass this if you trade the Pokémon with friends. Because traded Schnuthelm or Laukaps cost no candies to evolve.
The Community Day is perfect for catching both of them. But what can they do? We’ll take a look at that below. But first, let’s briefly summarize the bonuses of the Community Day.
Bonuses of the Community Day: This time there are the following bonuses that you can use during the event.

- Important: The special move is available for evolutions from the start of the event until February 16 at 10:00 AM. You have almost a week.

- Lure modules and incense last for 3 hours during the event
- Snapshot surprises
- Double chance for XL candies if you are over level 31
- Timed research running until February 16, 2025, at 10:00 PM.
- The research will reward you with one of the Pokémon with a special background. Additionally, the shiny chance is increased here.
There will also be matching field researches, showcases, and a paid research available in the shop.
What can Laukaps and Cavalanzas do in Pokémon GO?
Laukaps is this strong: You can safely ignore Laukaps in battles – whether in raids or PvP matches.
Cavalanzas is this strong: Unfortunately, Cavalanzas is also not a particularly good attacker in the PvP of Pokémon GO, even though it is a knight bug with two spears. However, it does have the fast attack Counter, which can be useful as a bug Pokémon to surprise the opponent in the battle league. In raids, it is also negligible.

What can Schnuthelm and Hydragil do in Pokémon GO?
Schnuthelm is this strong: Unfortunately, it is not an option for the battle league; it is too weak. This also applies to raids. Better choose other options from the list of best attackers in Pokémon GO.
Hydragil is this strong: The cool ninja prefers to sneak out of the battle league or raids – because its stats are not good for either.

Is the Community Day in February 2025 worth it?
If you are only looking for strong fighters, this day is probably not for you. But the shinies are both striking and thus interesting targets for collectors. Additionally, it is a good opportunity to get the evolutions of both monsters, even if you don’t want to trade with anyone. On top of that, as always, there are some bonuses that make the day more interesting. The XP bonus can help with leveling.
