The PvP league in Pokémon GO has been available again for a few days. After a nasty exploit, the league was recently closed for over a week. However, the break apparently did not help much.
This is the state of the PvP league: On June 13, Niantic took the PvP league offline. The reason was a player who had cheated their way to the top of the leaderboard using an exploit.
On June 23, ten days later, the PvP league was back online. The bugs were supposed to be fixed, and there were some adjustments to the rewards as compensation.
However, after several days of testing, many trainers found that many bugs and even the serious exploit were still in the game.
Trainers continue to report nasty exploit
What kind of exploit is this? It became known as the “Melmetal GBL Exploit.” The cheating player always used Melmetal and thus exploited the advantage. However, it does not have much to do with the Pokémon itself.
The exploit uses third-party software to make Pokémon GO think that the game is running faster. This allows players to throw their attacks much faster in the PvP league, giving them a huge advantage over their opponent.
Is the bug still in the game? Even right after the restart, some players reported that their opponent had used the exploit.
These reports are becoming frequent. However, there is no real proof video of this. A video has surfaced on Twitter that could show this bug. Experts, however, are not entirely sure if it is indeed this exploit:

Other bugs are still annoying in PvP: Despite the one-week break, there are still numerous bugs found in the PvP league. User FabiusM1 writes on reddit: “The real problem after the fix is that the PvP league has more bugs than ever, and switching Pokémon is an absolute chaos. These are the real issues that should be fixed! Season 2 is a disgrace!”
