On Pokémon GO, the Community Day with Cyndaquil starts on Sunday! Accordingly, two moves were revealed that Typhlosion can learn.
These are the moves: Not surprisingly, Typhlosion can learn the Charged Move Overheat like any other Fire starter. However, it is surprising that a second move comes to Typhlosion.
Thus, Typhlosion will learn the move Flame Charge through TM. This was always one of the exclusive moves for Typhlosion in the console games.
What we know about the two new moves
Which move is better? This is currently a hot topic of debate among many players. Overheat has two charge bars, while Flame Charge even has three charge bars.
For gym battles and raids, Overheat is likely the better alternative. However, in PvP, Flame Charge performs better as it charges its Charged Move significantly faster.
The differences here are minimal, but both moves greatly enhance Typhlosion.
This is how strong Typhlosion will be with the new moves: Among the best Fire attackers, Typhlosion rises to the top with these two moves. Although the currently best Fire attacker Moltres can withstand more, it deals slightly less damage per second.
Charizard with Overheat is well behind Typhlosion with these two moves and Moltres.
This is how you can get the moves: There is a big difference here. Typhlosion learns Overheat in the usual way on Community Day. You need to evolve it between 3 PM and 7 PM for it to learn the move. TMs do not help here.
Flame Charge, on the other hand, can be learned through TMs. This way, you can also teach the move to already evolved forms of Typhlosion.
What happens after Community Day? This is currently unclear. Overheat will no longer be learnable after the event. However, Flame Charge might still be learnable after the Community Day. After all, you teach this move with TMs, which suggests a long-term move.
Nevertheless, we recommend that on Sunday, during the event, you equip appropriate Typhlosions with Flame Charge. After all, we are not sure if the move will remain available afterwards.
The 3rd GO Fest for 2019 has a location! It will take place in Yokohama:
