Trainers from the Pokémon GO community used tricks like changing the time to achieve their second research breakthrough in Pokémon GO. A breakthrough occurs when a trainer has collected seven stamps from field research – only one stamp can be collected per day.
Changing the time allows you to reach this breakthrough sooner. However, this is likely considered an exploit of Pokémon GO, which is why we strongly advise against using this method to gain an advantage.
Last week, trainers were rewarded with an encounter with the legendary Firebird Lavados during the first research breakthrough. There was uncertainty whether the monster encounters would change from breakthrough to breakthrough, or if Niantic used a different system.
