The Pokémon GO avatar update is facing significant resistance in the community. Now trainers are also reporting issues related to the update.
What kind of update is this? Recently, a large graphic update with 4 features was announced for Pokémon GO, which will be implemented in several phases. The first part of the update has now been released.
It is titled Rediscover yourselves anew
and brings significant changes to the avatars. The update has been received so poorly by the community that many trainers wish for it to be reverted.
Now there are reports from the community that the update brings even more problems.
Clothing items distorted, outfits deleted
What is the problem? The first problem described by trainers on Reddit concerns the clothing items. Some of them apparently can no longer be equipped or found by trainers in their inventory.
Additionally, there are clothing items that look distorted and no longer nice due to the new avatars, which is why trainers are opting not to use them. This is particularly frustrating when the items come from events or were purchased with PokéCoins.
The second problem concerns saved outfits. With an outfit, you can save a combination of clothing items and quickly switch between different outfits at any time.
Here too, there are problems due to the update. Trainers report on Reddit that the outfits saved prior to the update have been deleted and therefore need to be recreated.

What does Niantic say about it? So far, there have been no official statements from Niantic on the update or community feedback. On the site pokemongohub.net, a senior Niantic employee said the following:
We are sending all your feedback to the product team and the people who worked on the avatar system. We take this very seriously and truly appreciate that you share your open, personal opinions / the opinions of your followers.
However, it must be noted that this is not an official statement from Niantic that they have published themselves, but merely a brief note from an employee to a website that deals with the topic.
What does the community say about it? The comments from the community are understandably not very positive given the problems. Some of the responses include:
Some items were removed with this update […] I’ve searched high and low and can’t find them. And I have spent real money on them
