In Pokémon GO, the spotlight hour with Knilz is happening today. But beware! Players are warning about bugs in raids, during evolution, and with Rayquaza.
What is it about? The spotlight hour today with Knilz is a highlight for trainers. Because a hidden bonus makes the hour even more appealing. However, players who have already played the event due to time zone differences in other parts of the world report severe errors and are now warning the community.
- Caught Rayquaza do NOT learn the move Hurricane as announced
- Evolved Metagross do NOT learn the move Meteor Mash as announced
- Interactions with Mega Ampharos lead to crashes and other issues
- These warnings pertain to the game time during the spotlight hour
What the trainers are reporting
In countries like Australia, the spotlight hour has already taken place, and players are reporting some issues that occurred.
Today, the Hoenn event also started, and apparently, the combination of these two events is causing problems.
Rayquaza: Due to the Hoenn event, there is a limited-time research that rewards you with a Rayquaza at the end. It is supposed to learn the Hurricane move when you catch it as a research reward. However, this bonus does not work during the spotlight hour. This has also been confirmed on reddit.
Metagross: If you evolve a Metagross during the Hoenn event, it is supposed to learn the move Meteor Mash. According to trainer reports, this does not work during the spotlight hour. Trainers on reddit explain that their evolved Metagross learned Flash Cannon during the spotlight hour (via reddit).
Ampharos: The extent of the issues here is difficult to assess due to various trainer reports. Apparently, raids with Mega Ampharos cause your game to crash. (via reddit)
Be careful: Trainers are advised not to carry out these actions during the spotlight hour today with Knilz. So wait to complete the limited-time research and catch Rayquaza, evolve Metagross, and do raids with Mega Ampharos until the spotlight hour is over or do it before the event.
It is unclear whether Niantic will resolve the issues before the spotlight hour starts today in Germany.
The next major event starts in February in Pokémon GO. Who the 12-euro ticket for the Kanto tour is worth it for, we show you here.
