During the data mining of the latest update to Pokémon GO 38 new moves and five evolution items were found.
Yesterday, Niantic announced that the new Patch 0.53.1 is being rolled out and will soon be released in various countries. In the code of this new APK, data miners found interesting changes that are not mentioned in the patch notes. Many new moves and their graphics were found in the code. Additionally, the items that are given to various Pokémon to evolve are located in the code.
38 new moves for Pokémon GO
The 38 discovered moves are a major update for the game. Until now, Ditto’s Transform move was the only new ability that the developers added to Pokémon GO.
The following moves were found in the code by TheSilphRoad:

In addition to the names of these moves, graphics for them have also been discovered in the code. However, these new moves are not officially recognized yet. They will likely not be activated until an official announcement from Niantic.
Evolution Items in Pokémon GO
Among the important findings of the data mining are also the evolution items. This refers to the group of items that consists of the same-named evolution items and evolution stones. Evolution items enhance the battle stats of the Pokémon that carry them. Additionally, Pokémon evolve when they carry these items during a trade.
Certain Pokémon can only evolve when evolution stones are directly applied to them. The following evolution stones and evolution items were introduced in Pokémon Gold and Silver and have now been found in the code of Pokémon GO:
Scherox – Source: Pokefans.net
Metal Coat – Allows Scyther to evolve into Scizor and Onix into Steelix when they carry the item during a trade.
Sun Stone – Allows Gloom to evolve into Bellossom, Sunflora to evolve into Sunflora, Whimsicott to evolve into Whimsicott, Fomantis to evolve into Lurantis and Gloom to evolve into Florges.
King’s Rock – Allows Seadra to evolve into Kingdra and Slowpoke to evolve into Slowking when they carry the item during a trade.
Dragon Scale – Allows Seadra to evolve into Kingdra when it carries the item during a trade.
Up-Grade – Allows Porygon to evolve into Porygon2 when it carries the item during a trade.
Presumably, the exact function of these items will still change, as there are currently no trading options in Pokémon GO. When you will be able to use these items in the game is also still unclear. So far, only the names of the items have been found in the code. Graphics for them have not yet been discovered.
