On July 7, there will be a special Articuno Day in Pokémon GO. The legendary Pokémon will be exclusive to raid battles for three hours. Trainers had a concern regarding these raids, which Niantic has now resolved.
What is the good news? Articuno will be the only level 5 raid boss appearing for the duration of the event.
Why is this good news? On Articuno Day, the legendary Pokémon will only be available during a small window of time as a raid boss in level 5 raids. The event takes place on July 7 (Saturday) from 11 AM to 2 PM – that’s only three hours. Regice is also a level 5 raid boss and is currently in the game due to the current rotation. Trainers were worried that they might encounter Regice in the raids during the Articuno Day. However, since Articuno will only be available for three hours, that would be an extremely frustrating waste of time.
Trainers wish: Articuno should be available in all gyms
Three hours is too short to hope for luck: Players are pleased that Articuno will be the only level 5 boss during the event. However, there has also been a request that all gyms should feature Articuno during these three hours. In Pokémon GO, it can happen that one does not encounter a level 5 raid within a three-hour window.
Trainers fear that they might not encounter Articuno, even if Regice will be inactive at that time. Additionally, there is an increased chance of encountering a shiny Articuno during the event. This means that trainers want to do this raid as often as possible to potentially catch a shiny.
The Articuno Day is part of the Europe Event
The Safari Zone was a special Europe Event: In Germany (Dortmund), there was the Safari Zone. It was a fan event for trainers during which players worldwide could complete challenges . Furthermore, trainers who were actually in Dortmund could catch Corasonn. Normally, Corasonn is not available in Europe. However, the event had some problems:
The Safari goals were met: Because all tasks were completed, trainers worldwide will be rewarded with the Articuno Day. Additionally, there will be strong XP rewards for everyone:
- 3x XP for catching Pokémon
- 3x XP for hatching eggs
- 2x XP for raid battles
- Lucky Eggs now last for one hour
The Articuno Day starts this Saturday, July 7. We have already prepared an Articuno counter guide where you can find the best attackers
