In Pokémon GO, the new event Appropriate Surprises
begins. We have compiled what the event is about and what you can expect there.
When does the event run? The event will start on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 10:00 AM and will run until Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 8:00 PM. This event will mainly focus on large and small Pokémon. Additionally, the event will feature several Pokémon that can appear as Shiny for the first time.

Appropriate Surprises
brings 4 new Shinies
What new Shinies are there in this event? The event will feature 4 Shinies that have not previously been available as Shiny in Pokémon GO. These are the following Pokémon:
- Tapir
- Tectass
- Kaguron (only in the Southern Hemisphere)
- Katagami (only in the Northern Hemisphere)
In addition to these new shiny Pokémon, there is also an increased chance to encounter a Shiny Wailmer.

Bonuses and additional content of the Appropriate Surprises
event
What bonuses will there be during the event? You can look forward to the following 3 bonuses during the event:
- Double experience points when catching if you make at least one good throw (the bonus will not stack with the bonus from the Community Day Classic with Kindwurm on April 7).
- Increased chance to encounter XXS and XXL Pokémon in the wild.
- Increased chance to encounter Wailmer as Shiny Pokémon.
Will there be a collector’s challenge? Yes, during the event, there will also be a collector’s challenge that you can complete. Rewards here include Himmih and Sanan berries, experience points, and encounters with Reißlaus and Wailmer.
