During the Ur-Raid Day in Pokémon GO, there were issues with the Shinies over the weekend. Now, Niantic Support has commented.
What was the problem? On Sunday, the Ur-Raid Day took place as part of the Hyperbonus, which players had unlocked during the global GO Fest 2025.
The main bonus of the event was the return of the primal forms of Palkia and Dialga, which could be secured in the raids for six hours. The most exciting part was that players were supposed to have an increased chance of catching both as Shiny in the raids.
However, during the event, trainers increasingly suspected that the Shiny rate could not be increased. They shared various posts on Reddit, showing their catch results and asking if other trainers had more luck. One post, for instance, displays collected results from Japan (on Reddit), suggesting that the rate during the event in earlier time zones had not been increased.
Now, Niantic Support has addressed the issue and confirmed the problems.
Niantic confirms issue with Shinies, announces compensation
This is what Niantic Support says: On the social media platform “X”, Niantic Support announced that they had identified an issue affecting the appearance rate of Shiny Primal Dialga and Palkia.
“We are planning compensation for affected trainers and will announce further details shortly,” it says. The exact nature of the compensation is still unclear.
On Reddit, trainers are already discussing what this compensation might look like. They speculate that there could be a compensation event where the raids are repeated. Others hope that the affected trainers can replay the corresponding encounters, with the correct Shiny rate. However, it remains to be seen how exactly the compensation will be structured.
