In Pokémon GO there were recently problems with Shiny Zapdos in the raids. Now Niantic has spoken up and wants to compensate the trainers for the error. We at MeinMMO show you what to expect as an apology.
What is Niantic apologizing for? Every weekend, special Crypto Raids of level 5 take place in Pokémon GO, where you can encounter a selected legendary Pokémon. In September, Zapdos was the focus, which could even be caught in its shiny form with a bit of luck.
On September 16, however, there was an error, which is why the shiny form of the monster was not active. Niantic has now apologized for this over their X account (formerly Twitter) and announced compensation.

What compensation is there? As can be gleaned from the developers’ tweet, there will be a kind of replacement event as an apology. The Raids with Crypto Zapdos are to be repeated at the beginning of October. These can then be used by all players, regardless of whether they participated in raids on September 16 or not.
Those who participated in the affected raids can also pick up a free bundle with 3 Premium Battle Passes in the in-game shop until October 8, 2023, at 22:00 local time. Specifically, Niantic writes:
As the shiny Crypto Zapdos was not available on September 16, a free item bundle with three Premium Battle Passes will be available in the shop from Thursday, September 28 at 10:00 local time until Sunday, October 8 at 22:00 local time for all trainers who conducted a raid during the affected time. Crypto Zapdos will be available in Crypto Raids on October 6. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

When does the apology event take place? On Friday, October 6, 2023, you should according to Niantic get another opportunity to secure shiny Zapdos in the Crypto Raids. Thus, corresponding raids will again be found at the gyms on that day.

Why is the replacement date so important? Unlike the other raids, the Crypto Raids of level 5 only take place on weekends. For this reason, there is only a limited number of days on which you can even secure the raid boss.
Additionally, trainers can only play these raids on site, participation via remote raids is not possible. This requires corresponding arrangements in the local community. Furthermore, with the change of month, a raid boss change also takes place. In October, you can encounter Crypto Lavados in the regular Crypto Raids of level 5.
What does the community say about it? The compensation is not well received among trainers. This is mainly due to the number of free raid passes that affected trainers are receiving as compensation.
Some played more than three Zapdos raids on that day and are now upset that they only receive so few passes as reimbursement despite the fault. Whether Niantic will make adjustments here remains to be seen.
