Niantic will launch a Safari Zone in Pokémon GO in November. This time it will take place in Tainan, Taiwan. A Shiny Pinsir is luring.
The Safari Zone starts on November 1 and ends four days later on November 5. It takes place in the Tainan Metropolitan Park and the Chimei Museum.
Interesting for German players as well? During the Safari Zones in summer 2018, there were worldwide rewards such as Shinys. Therefore, trainers also hope that the Safari Zone in Tainan will reward players worldwide.
In the published image for the Safari Zone, the regional Pokémon Relicanth can be seen, which will be exclusively catchable there. Additionally, new forms of Icognito are expected to be available again.
Shiny Pinsir also to be caught
The image released by Niantic also shows Pinsir. In the event announcement on the Pokémon GO website, Niantic speaks of the chance for Shiny Pinsir. Fans are hoping that this shiny Pokémon will not only be catchable in the Safari Zone but will also appear worldwide. However, this has not yet been officially confirmed.
Increased spawn rate? Players wish for an increased spawn rate of the Bug Pokémon, as Pinsir rarely appears outside of nests. The increased appearances of Plusle and Minun, Roselia and Wingull during the previous Safari Zones give reason to believe that the spawn rate of Pinsir will also be increased.
Other event Pokémon: Besides Pinsir, the following Pokémon can also be caught in the Safari Zone.
- Relicanth (normally only can be caught in New Zealand and Fiji)
- Kindwurm
- Wablu
- Anorith
- Icognito (presumably the letter forms “TAINAN ZONE”)

What is a Safari Zone?
Since summer 2017, Niantic has been using Safari Zones as event platforms repeatedly. For this purpose, the company behind Pokémon GO collaborates with a city where the Safari Zone then takes place.
Regional Pokémon: The highlight of each Safari Zone is the regional Pokémon that appear there. These are normally not catchable in this city. Pokémon such as Skaraborn, Kangama, Pantimos, Qurtel, Corasonn, and Tropius have already appeared in such zones.
Where you can find the regional Pokémon otherwise, we have listed here for you.

Other event Pokémon: In addition to the regional Pokémon, other rare Pokémon also spawn in the Safari Zones. There were mainly Pokémon that hatch from 10 km eggs, such as Bummelz or Tanhel. Additionally, in these zones, the chance of shiny Pokémon is particularly high.
