On Twitter, Pokémon GO reflected on the Pokémon year 2018. In two tweets, they also mentioned the year 2019.
The social media department of Niantic provided a recap of the year 2018 over the last two days. They discussed some new features that were introduced in 2018, including the friends system and field research.
They also offered a small preview of 2019 and promised the trainers an exciting year ahead.
New Pokémon and Adventures in 2019
Niantic wrote: On the Twitter account of Pokémon GO, the social media department thanked all players for a wonderful 2018. They also spoke of future adventures, stating: “2019 marks the beginning of a new chapter in Pokémon GO for all of us. More adventures await you, trainers!”
Niantic support also reached out on Twitter, stating: “Finally, we want to show you how valuable your feedback and suggestions are, and we have some exciting (and currently strictly secret) improvements and new features in store to make 2019 the best year yet!”
Will new Pokémon be coming soon? In another entry on Twitter, Niantic spoke about the PokéDex that was filled with Pokémon from the Hoenn and Sinnoh regions in 2018. They then mentioned more Pokémon that we can expect soon: “We have a sneaking suspicion that more Sinnoh Pokémon will be added to your Pokédex soon…”
Will new Pokémon come in 2018? The tweet sparked a discussion in the community. Will new Pokémon perhaps even arrive in 2018? This is quite possible. Niantic has already confirmed a Christmas event. In 2017, some new Pokémon from Generation 3 were released during this event. Niantic might pursue the same plan in 2018.
