In Pokémon GO there are news about Rocket Boss Giovanni. Niantic reveals that you can meet the boss again every month and challenge him in a special research.
The special research “A Long Shadow” is here and gives you an encounter with Rocket Boss Giovanni at the end. This means that you cannot meet Giovanni daily, and you only have the chance to do so in this research.
But this will not be your only Giovanni research, as Niantic has now revealed that you can meet the head of Team Rocket every month.
Meet Giovanni Every Month – Why?
This is what Niantic revealed: On their support page, Niantic explains the process against the Rocket bosses. However, they also mention a part at the bottom that had not been known so far.
Trainers can receive the Giovanni special research once a calendar month. For example, if you complete your September Giovanni special research in mid-October, you will shortly thereafter receive a new special research. If you complete the September research in mid-September, you must wait until October 1st (local time) at midnight to receive the research again.
What does this mean for the players? You will definitely receive a special research to complete every month if you have already completed the old one. It remains to be seen whether the quests will change or remain the same.
The fact is that you can encounter Giovanni at least once a month.
Why should you encounter Giovanni multiple times? According to Niantic, Giovanni battles with the 3 legendary birds in their Crypto version. After the battle, you can only catch one Crypto Pokémon.
You would not be able to get the other birds this way. However, if you can fight Giovanni every month, you have the chance to obtain more legendary Crypto Pokémon.
Are there any other ways to get to Giovanni? You can always find the Rocket bosses if you have built the components beforehand. Giovanni, however, does not appear there so far.
The special research is currently the only way to reach Giovanni. It remains to be seen whether there will soon be more ways.
