The Halloween Event 2020 has been officially announced in Pokémon GO! Shiny Golett, Darkrai and numerous other bonuses await you.
When does the Halloween Event take place? You can benefit from the bonuses for a full 2 weeks. It starts on October 24 at 3:00 AM German time. It ends on November 4 at 3:00 AM.
There is a lot going on in the game during this time. There are new costumed Pokémon, a new Shiny, and plenty of other bonuses. We will give you the overview.
All Information about the Halloween Event 2020
These are the bonuses: The list of bonuses is long. We will show them all to you here:
- Double candy for catching and sending Pokémon
- Ghost-type Pokémon appear more frequently in the wild, in eggs, and in raids
- Gengar and Spiritomb appear in costumes – Gengar in raids and Spiritomb in the wild and in eggs
- Galarian Yamask makes its debut in Pokémon GO. There is a new special research focused on this Pokémon
- Golett will be available as a reward in several quests – for the first time also as Shiny
- Players who completed the Mega Buddy Challenge will receive another limited research that includes Mega Gengar energy
- Darkrai returns to level 5 raids
- Halloween outfits for your avatar are available in the in-game shop
What’s special about Darkrai: Until now, we only knew of a special raid boss that will appear for Halloween. It will be Darkrai again. In 2019, we were able to battle against the mysterious Pokémon during Halloween.
It might know the move Hypnosis, as a leak has already suggested.
What does Shiny Golett look like? The difference is easy to spot. Normally, the Pokémon is pink, but in its Shiny form, it is light blue:
Are there any new Pokémon? So far, only Galarian Yamask has been announced as a new monster. New monsters, possibly from Gen 6, have not been mentioned.
How can I get Mega Gengar? The Pokémon has been announced for Halloween and at the event, you can earn Mega Energy for the Pokémon.
Whether the evolution will also be unlocked remains to be seen. There is currently no information on that.
These 3 events are waiting for you
During the Halloween Event, 3 smaller events will also take place. These include:
Raid Day with Alolan Marowak: On October 31 between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Alolan Marowak will appear more frequently in the gyms.
This could be really exciting for Shiny-hunters, as Alolan Marowak can be Shiny and is likely to be the highlight of the event. But Alolan Marowak is also really strong in the PvP League. So if you’re out there, you should hope for a good specimen.
Ghost Challenge: This event was announced earlier. On October 25 between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM, there will be more ghost-type Pokémon in the wild and exclusive field research.
Halloween Cup in PvP: Between October 26 and November 3, the Halloween Cup will take place in the PvP League. You may only use Pokémon of the types Poison, Bug, Ghost, Dark, or Fairy with 1500 CP or less.
