What does the analysis show? This analysis was conducted by TheSilphRoad. They had experts from around the world look into how many Shiny Barschwa came from the quests.
In total, 3500 field research tasks were included in the analysis. From this, it was determined how many Shinys came from these quests and the probability of getting one.
These are the statements from the analysis: It was surprisingly found that players in Europe received significantly fewer Shinys from their field research than, for example, Americans or Australians.
- Shiny rate in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and India: 1 in 40
- Shiny rate for the rest of the world: 1 in 20
What does this tell us? The criticism from Europe appears to have been justified. In Australia, for example, it was twice as likely to encounter a Shiny than here. It seems that players in Europe had a clear disadvantage.
How significant is this analysis? Of course, there are no official numbers from Niantic on this. However, such a difference is quite clear and cannot be attributed to chance. After all, over 1500 quests were completed in Europe to arrive at this result.
What could be the reason for the difference? We players in Europe were the first region to experience the Barschwa Day. All other regions had to wait until after us.
It is possible that Niantic responded directly to player criticism and increased the Shiny rate during the event. Our region suffered from this, while the other areas had a higher chance, and the criticism in those countries was less significant.
