In Pokémon GO there are adjustments to the field research. Niantic has removed some quests so that you can play better from home.
What exactly was done? On Twitter, Niantic’s support wrote that they would be removing quests that cannot be completed from home. They did not mention specific names of the tasks, but on reddit, players have already diligently compiled the quests.
This means there are further adjustments in the fight against the coronavirus. Niantic is already changing its game in many ways so that it can be played more easily from home.
Niantic removes quests – But which ones?
Trainers report: On reddit, players have gathered to see which field researches have actually disappeared. There is no exact list, as it seems it has not been implemented widely yet.
Nevertheless, players report that the following tasks have disappeared:
- Tasks related to battling in gyms
- Tasks related to battling in raids
Especially those tasks that require you to stand at gyms and battle seem to have disappeared. This would, for example, affect the Pokémon rewards from Mankey or Pinsir, as they can be found in such tasks.
There seem to be problems: While some trainers say that their PokéStops at home suddenly have changed quests, other players say the complete opposite. They still find tasks related to battling in raids.
The field research “Defeat 3 Team GO Rocket Grunts” is also still active. This is surprising, as you still need to defeat 3 Rocket Grunts, and if you don’t have a stop right outside your door, you have to go outside for that.
It could well be that adjustments will be made in the coming hours and days.
What is behind these adjustments? Niantic is currently trying to give players as few incentives as possible to go outside. They had already taken numerous measures a few days ago.
Recently, they addressed the ball issue and are now distributing more balls to all players, making it easier to catch Pokémon from home.
Keep in mind that there is currently a risk of infection with the coronavirus for yourself and others. The Federal Center for Health Education recommends staying at home as much as possible, keeping distance from others, and avoiding gatherings. Niantic has implemented various measures so that you can play Pokémon GO from home.
