What are Spotlight Hours? Every Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, a Spotlight Hour takes place in Pokémon GO. During this 60 minutes, one Pokémon is in focus and spawns almost everywhere in the wild. Typically, at the beginning of a month, Niantic announces which Pokémon will be the focus of the events in the upcoming month.
Each event is accompanied by a bonus that brings candy, Stardust, or XP. Here we show you an overview of which Pokémon and bonuses are active during the Spotlight Hours in September 2022.

These are the dates: In September, you can expect four Spotlight Hours. The following Pokémon and bonuses will be the focus:

Spotlight Hour on September 6
Which Pokémon? Somniam is the focus in the first Spotlight Hour in September. The Pokémon comes from Generation 5 and is of the Psychic type. Its evolution is Somnivora, which also belongs to the Psychic type.
What bonuses do you get? For catching Pokémon, you will receive double the amount of Stardust.
Who is it worth it for? Neither Somniam nor its evolution Somnivora are important for Raids or Trainer Battles. Use the event to take your chance at Shinies and to take advantage of the Stardust bonus.
Can you catch Shiny Somniam? Yes, the shiny form of Somniam is in the game. In the following graphic, you can see it with its evolution for comparison.
Spotlight Hour on September 13
Which Pokémon? Trasla comes from Generation 3 and is of the Psychic and Fairy types. It can evolve into Kirlia, which can then evolve into Gardevoir or Gallade.
What bonuses do you get? For catching Pokémon, you will receive double the amount of experience points.
Who is it worth it for? Gardevoir is a very important attacker in Raids and ranks in many counter-guide articles among our top 20. Catching strong examples of Trasla may be worth it if you like raiding. In Trainer Battles, Gardevoir plays at mid-tier level. Gallade performs slightly better in Trainer Battles and might be interesting for you if you play PvP.
Can you catch Shiny Trasla? Yes, you can catch the shiny form of Trasla in Pokémon GO. In the following graphic, you can see the comparisons. The shiny form shows up with blue accents.
Spotlight Hour on September 20
Which Pokémon? Stollunior is of the Steel and Rock types and comes from Generation 3. Its evolutions are Stollrak and Stolloss.
What bonuses do you get? For catching Pokémon, you will receive double the amount of candy.
Who is it worth it for? Stollunior plays no role in Trainer Battles or Raids. Stollrak ranks in the lower mid-tier of the attacker rankings in the Super League. Stolloss can be found in the lower mid-tier of the Super League and Hyper League. As a Raid attacker, it ranks low.
Can you catch Shiny Stollunior? Yes, you can catch the shiny form of Stollunior in Pokémon GO.
Spotlight Hour on September 27
Which Pokémon? Picochilla comes from Generation 5 and is of the Normal type. Its evolution is Chillabell.
What bonuses do you get? For transferring Pokémon, you will receive double the amount of candy.
Who is it worth it for? Neither Picochilla nor Chillabell are suitable as attackers in Raids or Trainer Battles. Use your chance to clean up your collection and take the candy bonus or challenge yourself for the small chance of a Shiny.
Can you catch Shiny Picochilla? Yes, the shiny form of Picochilla can be caught in Pokémon GO.
