The Spotlight Hours in October 2021 for Pokémon GO are known. In total, you can expect four dates. We’ll show you when you’ll receive XP and when you’ll receive Stardust, and why there won’t be a Spotlight Hour with candies in October.
What kind of events are these? The Spotlight Hours run every Tuesday evening starting at 6:00 PM in Pokémon GO. For one hour, a specific Pokémon is in focus and spawns nearly everywhere. This is accompanied by a bonus that gives you more Stardust, more XP, or more candies. However, there are no candies in October.

Spotlight Hour on October 5
Which Pokémon will you encounter? During the Spotlight Hour, Driftloon of Ghost and Flying type will be highlighted.
What bonuses do you get? For evolving Pokémon, you will receive double experience points (XP).
Who is this worth it for? For everyone who saves Pokémon for evolution and then, possibly together with a Lucky Egg, wants to evolve many Pokémon at once.
Is there a Shiny version? Yes, the shiny form of Driftloon is already available in the game.
Spotlight Hour on October 12
Which Pokémon will you encounter? The Pokémon Nebulak of Ghost and Poison type is the star of the Spotlight Hour.
What bonuses do you get? During the event, you will receive double Stardust for catching Pokémon.
Who is this worth it for? This event is generally worth it for every player, as you use Stardust for trading or for power-ups. In combination with a Star Piece, you can effectively replenish your stock during the event.
Is there a Shiny version? Yes, Nebulak is also available as a Shiny in Pokémon GO.
Spotlight Hour on October 19
Which Pokémon will you encounter? During this Spotlight Hour, Mollimorba of Psychic type will be in the spotlight.
What bonuses do you get? For catching Pokémon, you will receive double experience points.
Who is this worth it for? This is worth it for all players who still need experience points for leveling up.
Is there a Shiny version? No, shiny Mollimorba cannot be caught in Pokémon GO yet.
Spotlight Hour on October 26
Which Pokémon will you encounter? Kramurx will be the focus in the last Spotlight Hour in October. It belongs to the Dark and Flying types.
What bonuses do you get? For evolving Pokémon, you will receive double experience points.
Who is this worth it for? This is again worth it for all players who have saved Pokémon for evolution in order to evolve many in short succession.
Is there a Shiny version? Yes, shiny Kramurx can be caught in Pokémon GO.
Why is there no Spotlight Hour with candies?
If you looked at the overview of the Spotlight Hours, you surely noticed that there is no Spotlight Hour with a candy bonus. Instead, on October 5 and October 26, there is the same bonus that gives you double XP for evolving Pokémon.
This probably has to do with the fact that the Halloween event is running in October. It starts on October 15 and has consistently offered a candy bonus since its release.
So it is quite possible that during the Spotlight Hours on October 19 and October 26 there will also be a candy bonus that belongs to the Halloween event.
