Which Pokémon? During the first Spotlight Hour in July, you will encounter the Bug and Flying-type Pokémon Ledyba. It comes from Generation 2 and can evolve into Ledian.
What bonus will you receive? In addition to plenty of Ledyba spawns, you will receive double XP for catching Pokémon.
Who is this worth it for? Ledyba and its evolution Ledian are not particularly interesting for use in raids or the PvP league. Therefore, the Spotlight Hour is mainly worth it because of the XP bonus when catching. Alternatively, you can also activate a mystery box during this time and catch Meltan.

Spotlight Hour on July 12, 2022
Which Pokémon? Machollo awaits you in the second Spotlight Hour of July. The Fighting-type Pokémon comes from the first game generation and can evolve into Machomei via Maschock.
What bonus will you receive? During the Spotlight Hour with Machollo, you will receive double candy when catching Pokémon.
Who is this worth it for? Machollo itself is not particularly strong, but its evolution Machomei can boast high attack and stamina values. Therefore, it is one of the best Fighting attackers in Pokémon GO and it can also hold its own in the Super and Hyper League.
The bonus is also really good because you have the opportunity to farm many Machollo candies to level up Machomei. If that doesn’t interest you, you can also play raids during this time and get double candies there.
Can you catch Shiny Machollo? Yes, Machollo is also available in its shiny form in the game.
Spotlight Hour on July 19, 2022
Which Pokémon? During the third Spotlight Hour in July 2022, you will encounter the Water-type Pokémon Sterndu. The monster comes from Generation 1 and can evolve into Starmie with 50 candies.
What bonus will you receive? If you sort out your Pokémon and send them to Professor Willow during the short event, you will receive double candies for that.
Who is this worth it for? Sterndu and Starmie are both not particularly strong, so they are less suitable for the PvP league and in raids. Nevertheless, it is worth catching Sterndu because the Water-type Pokémon is one of the 22 monsters from which you get more Stardust.

What bonus will you receive? For evolving Pokémon during the Spotlight Hour with Meditie, you will receive double XP.
Who is this worth it for? The Spotlight Hour is especially worth it for trainers looking for a strong candidate for the GO Battle League. Even though Meditie itself is not particularly strong, its evolution Meditalis can impress in the Super League.
Can you catch Shiny Meditie? Yes, with a bit of luck, you can also encounter a shiny Meditie.
