All spotlight hours with bonuses, Pokémon, and times in January 2022 at Pokémon GO are known. In this month, you can expect four dates. We will show you when you can get candies and stardust as rewards.
What are these events? The spotlight hours take place every Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM in Pokémon GO. During the event, a specific Pokémon will be in the spotlight and will spawn almost everywhere in the wild. During these event evenings, a bonus will be active, rewarding you with more stardust or candies.

Spotlight hour on January 4
Which Pokémon will you encounter there? In the first spotlight hour in January 2022, you can expect the Psychic-type Pokémon Monozito from generation five. It can evolve into Mitodos and then into Zytomega.
What bonuses do you get? For sending Pokémon, you receive double the amount of candies.
For whom is this worth it? Neither Monozito nor any of its evolutions are particularly interesting for battles. As a Psychic attacker, you are much better off with Pokémon like Mewtwo. So use the spotlight hour to collect for your Pokédex or send your accumulated Pokémon for more candies.
Can you catch shiny Monozito? No, shiny Monozito is not available in Pokémon GO.
Spotlight hour on January 11
Which Pokémon will you encounter there? On this date, you will encounter the Ground-type Pokémon Digda. It can evolve into Digdri. Additionally, there is an Alolan form of Digda, but it is probably not part of the event.
What bonuses do you get? For catching Pokémon, you receive double the amount of stardust.
For whom is this worth it? As an attacker, neither Digda nor Digdri are particularly valuable. You should use the hour to gather stardust.
Can you catch shiny Digda? Yes, you can catch shiny Digda in Pokémon GO.
Spotlight hour on January 18
Which Pokémon will you encounter there? You will encounter the Electric-type Pokémon Plusle during the third spotlight hour in January. It originates from the third generation and cannot evolve. Together with Minun, it forms a duo.
What bonuses do you get? For catching Pokémon, you receive double the amount of candies.
For whom is this worth it? Plusle has little to offer in raids or trainer battles. There are much stronger Electric attackers like Melmetal or Zapdos that you can rely on if you want to play with Electric-type Pokémon.
Use the hours to complete raids and secure double candies while catching.
Can you catch shiny Plusle? Yes, you can catch shiny Plusle in Pokémon GO.
Spotlight hour on January 25
Which Pokémon will you encounter there? The last spotlight hour in January will feature the Electric-type Pokémon Minun. It originates from the third generation and is the counterpart to Plusle. It cannot evolve.
What bonuses do you get? For sending Pokémon, you receive double the amount of candies.
For whom is this worth it? Similar to Plusle, Minun is not a particularly good attacker that you should definitely catch. Use the hour to tidy up your Pokémon collection and secure more candies for sending.
Can you catch shiny Minun? Yes, you can catch shiny Minun in Pokémon GO.
