Which events are we talking about? The Spotlight Hour typically takes place every Tuesday. A previously determined Pokémon appears for 60 minutes all around the wilderness. Additionally, there is always a bonus.
You need to keep this in mind: In February, there are only three dates, as the Spotlight Hour on February 20 is canceled. It will be replaced by a Raid Hour featuring Cresselia, as the event “The Road to Sinnoh” is happening during this period. In this event, there is a different legendary raid boss daily, including its own Raid Hour.

Spotlight Hour on February 6
Which Pokémon? The first Spotlight Hour in February 2024 brings you Dratini from the first generation of games. It is a Dragon type.
What bonuses are active? You will receive double XP for catching Pokémon.
Is it worth it? Dratini can evolve into Dragonir and then into Dragoran. It is among the best attackers in Pokémon GO and is useful in both raids and PvP. If you are missing it or need candies, this is a good date.
Can you catch Shiny Dratini? Yes, the Shiny version of Dratini is catchable in Pokémon GO.
Spotlight Hour on February 13
Which Pokémon? In the second Spotlight Hour in February, you will encounter Somniam. It comes from the fifth generation of games and is a Psychic type. It evolves into Somnivora.
What bonuses are active? You get double candies for every catch.
Is it worth it? Neither Somniam nor Somnivora are known as good attackers in raids or PvP.
Can you catch Shiny Somniam? Yes, the Shiny version of Somniam is available in Pokémon GO.
Spotlight Hour on February 27
Which Pokémon? Sandan and Alolan Sandan are the Pokémon of the day. Sandan comes from the 1st generation and is a Ground type, while in the 7th generation, the Alolan form of Ice and Steel type was introduced. Both evolve into their respective versions of Sandamer.
What bonuses are active? There are double candies when you transfer Pokémon and a higher chance for XL special candies when transferring.
Is it worth it? Neither Sandan, Sandamer, nor the Alolan variants of both are particularly relevant as raid attackers. However, Alolan Sandan still has a niche in the PvP battle league.
Can you catch Shiny Sandan? Yes, the Shiny variants of both versions are in the game.
