Spotlight hour on December 7
Which Pokémon will you encounter? The first spotlight hour in December 2021 brings you Electabuzz from the first generation. It is an Electric type and can evolve into Electivire.
What bonuses do you get? For sending Pokémon, you receive double the amount of candies.
Who is this beneficial for? The spotlight hour with Electabuzz can really pay off for you, as its evolution Electivire is a strong attacker in raids. To put it into perspective: Electivire is among the strongest electric attackers in Pokémon GO. If you are still missing strong attackers of this type, you should definitely participate in the event and collect strong Pokémon and candies.
In trainer battles, Electivire is not that strong, however.
For sending any Pokémon, you will receive double candies, so it’s a good opportunity to tidy up your collection.

Spotlight hour on December 14
Which Pokémon will you encounter? During the spotlight hour on December 14, you will encounter Magmar from the first generation. It is a Fire type and can evolve into Magmortar.
What bonuses do you get? For evolving Pokémon, you receive double experience points.
Who is this beneficial for? Magmar and Magmortar are not particularly strong attackers. In raids, Magmortar is still in the midfield, but it has much stronger competitors among the fire attackers. In trainer battles, Magmortar has little impact.
The increased experience points for evolving Pokémon are something that could interest trainers at lower levels. Use the spotlight hour primarily for candies for Magmortar.

Spotlight hour on December 21
Which Pokémon will you encounter? On December 21, you will encounter Snover during the spotlight hour from the fourth generation. It is an Ice and Grass type and can evolve into Abomasnow.
What bonuses do you get? For catching Pokémon, you receive double the amount of experience points.
Who is this beneficial for? Snover itself does not play a major role in raids or trainer battles. Its evolution Abomasnow is not particularly strong in raids either. However, Abomasnow can shine in trainer battles: In the Great League, it has to share the field with other strong competitors at the top. In the Ultra League, however, Abomasnow is among the best Pokémon you can use there.
This spotlight hour is especially suitable for collecting candies and getting strong Abomasnow for PvP.

Spotlight hour on December 28
Which Pokémon will you encounter? In the last spotlight hour in December, you will encounter Snorunt from the fifth generation. It is an Ice type and can evolve into Glalie.
What bonuses do you get? For catching Pokémon, you receive double the amount of candies.
Who is this beneficial for? Neither Snorunt nor its evolution Glalie are particularly interesting as fighters for you. This applies to both trainer battles in PvP and raids in PvE.
What’s exciting is the candy bonus that is active during the spotlight hour. Because the double catch candies apply not only to Snorunt but to catches of all Pokémon. So if there is an interesting Pokémon in raids at that time, you should take advantage of the hour and catch it to receive more candies.
For ice attackers, you better rely on Mamoswine, Froslass, Mewtwo, and other fighters from the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
