In December, Pokémon GO will have five Spotlight Hours. Which Pokémon and bonuses are on the schedule?
What is Spotlight Hour? Spotlight Hour takes place every Tuesday at 6:00 PM. Here you can catch a specific Pokémon that is highlighted for 60 minutes.
Additionally, you will receive a bonus for each Spotlight Hour that you can take advantage of.

Spotlight Hour on December 2, 2025
Which Pokémon appears? You will encounter the Headbutt Pokémon Koknodon. It is a Rock type and evolves into Rameidon.
What bonus is active? You will receive double the amount of Candy for all Pokémon you send.
Is the event worth it? In the PvP League, neither Koknodon nor Rameidon is useful, but Rameidon is a very useful monster in raids. Especially the Shadow version is very strong, ranking number 1 on the Rock list. The bonus is also helpful!
Is there a Shiny Koknodon? Yes, Koknodon is available as Shiny.
Spotlight Hour on December 9, 2025
Which Pokémon appears? Schilterus is the Pokémon on December 9. It is a Rock and Steel type. The Shield Pokémon evolves into Bollterus.
What bonus is active? When you catch a Pokémon, it will grant you double the amount of XP. This applies not only to Schilterus but to all Pokémon you encounter.
Is the event worth it? In raids, Schilterus and Bollterus are not particularly useful, but in the Super League, Bollterus is still a top Pokémon today. Especially if you can power it up as close to 1,500 CP as possible with XL Candies.
Is there a Shiny Schilterus? Yes, Schilterus can be caught as Shiny.
Spotlight Hour on December 16, 2025
Which Pokémon appears? The Martial Arts Pokémon Lin-Fu will be in the spotlight on December 16. It is a Fighting type and evolves into Wie-Shu.
What bonus is active? Each catch gives you double the amount of Candy. This also applies to all Pokémon you catch – not just Lin-Fu.
Is the event worth it? Unfortunately, Lin-Fu and Wie-Shu are not very useful. But the catch candies are great and also apply to current raid bosses.
Is there a Shiny Lin-Fu? Yes, Lin-Fu is also catchable as Shiny.
Spotlight Hour on December 23, 2025
Which Pokémon appears? The Ice and Water Pokémon Seemops will appear on December 23. It evolves into Seejong and Walraisa.
What bonus is active? Each evolution will grant you double the amount of XP.
Is the event worth it? The Seemops evolution Walraisa has some potential in the Ultra League and could be a good choice for your team. In raids, it’s okay as an attacker, but not a top choice. The bonus is great if you still need XP on your way to level 80.
Is there a Shiny Seemops? Yes, Shiny Seemops is available!
Spotlight Hour on December 30, 2025
Which Pokémon appears? The last Spotlight Hour features Botogel. The Ice and Flying Pokémon has no evolution.
What bonus is active? You will receive double the amount of Stardust for each catch.
Is the event worth it? Botogel is not a great attacker, but has a cool Shiny. So you can try your luck with it. And the Stardust bonus is always appreciated!
Is there a Shiny Botogel? Yes, the Shiny is available.
