In Pokémon GO the Sinnoh event has started! We show you which new raid bosses, quests, and shinies have come to the game.
How long does the event last? Until January 17 at 8:00 PM local time, you can take advantage of the bonuses. After that, the event ends and makes room for the event around the 3rd generation.
The Sinnoh event is all about the 4th generation. Monsters from the Sinnoh region will appear in raids, quests, eggs, and the wild.
Quests and Shinys for the Sinnoh Event
These are the field researches: There are 3 new quests that have been unlocked for the event. These include:
- Defeat 2 Team GO Rocket grunts
- Reward: Encounter with a Bamelin (can be shiny)
- Use 4 power-ups on Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Chelast, Panflam, or Plinfa (can all be shiny)
- Win 2 raids
- Reward: Encounter with a Koknodon or Schilterus
The task around Bamelin sounds interesting, as you can only catch Bamelin as shiny since this event. 2 raids for a Koknodon or Schilterus are also exciting. Here, however, everyone should assess for themselves whether these Pokémon are worth the use of 2 raid passes.
These are the new Shinys: No surprises. Only Bamelin has been introduced as a new shiny. We embed the image of the shiny form here:
Other interesting shiny checks in the wild are Driftlon, Hippopotas, Pionskora, and Charmian. They are rather rare outside of events and should be caught now.
All Raid Bosses for the Sinnoh Event
These are the new bosses: For this event, there is again a new list of raid bosses. They mainly come from the 4th generation:

Particularly interesting is Kaumalat in the 1-star raids. This is one of the rarest Pokémon in the game, hardly appearing outside of events. You should take advantage of the opportunity in raids.
What’s next? On January 19, the Hoenn event begins, focusing on Pokémon from the 3rd generation. After that, there should still be an event for the 2nd generation. All of this is the preparation for the big Kanto tour starting in February:
