The Rocket Event has started in Pokémon GO. Here is an overview of the new quests, spawns, and the limited research.
How long does the event last? You can take advantage of the event bonuses until February 7 at 8:00 PM local time.
At the start of the event, there were some minor surprises and a new limited research in Pokémon GO. Here is the overview.
Quests and Spawns for the Rocket Event
These are the new quests: There are a total of 4 new quests waiting for you. All of them involve event Pokémon:
- Catch 7 Poison-type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Skorgla (can be Shiny)
- Redeem 3 Crypto-Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Traunfugil (can be Shiny)
- Defeat 2 Team GO Rocket Grunts
- Reward: Encounter with a Nidoran female (can be Shiny)
- Catch 15 Dark-type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Nachtara
The task around Skorgla is quickly completed during the event and also provides a Pokémon that does not often appear outside of events. The other tasks take a bit longer, but are worth it if you still need the Shinies or are looking for a good Nachtara for the PvP league.
This is the limited research: In addition to the new quests, there is also limited research that gives you 2 Rocket Radars. The steps are divided as follows:

These are the spawns and Shinies: There are no big surprises here. Especially interesting spawns are Baldorfish, Hunduster, and Pionskora. These Pokémon appear extremely rarely outside of events.
However, there are no new Shinies in the wild.
New Raid Bosses for the Rocket Event
These are the bosses: The list of Raid bosses is fitting for the event. There are mainly Pokémon of the Dark and Poison types. All Pokémon marked with a star can also be Shiny:
