The big GO Fest in Pokémon GO starts in a few days and will also bring you new Shinys. Which ones they are and where you can find them with some luck, we have summarized for you here on MeinMMO.
What event is it about? On August 26 and 27, the big global GO Fest 2023 will take place in Pokémon GO. During this event, you will encounter plenty of monsters that will appear in the wild and in raids over a total of 16 hours. But especially shiny hunters can look forward to new Shinys in the game.
Which monsters will finally be available in their shiny forms in the game and where you can find them, we have summarized for you below.
11 new Shinies for the global GO Fest 2023
During this year’s GO Fest, you can look forward to a total of 11 new Shinys, including evolutions. Most of them will be available in the wild, which means you can catch them without a ticket. How the new monsters look and where you can get them, we have summarized for you below.
Shellos & Gastrodon (Eastern & Western Sea)
What kind of Pokémon are they? Shellos is one of the regional Pokémon in the game. While you can find Shellos (Eastern Sea), the blue variant, outside of this event in our regions, you will need to travel west of Great Britain to catch the pink Shellos (Western Sea). They can each evolve into Gastrodon.
Where do you find the Shiny? Both will celebrate their shiny debut in the game during the event and can be caught in the wild without a ticket with some luck. Shellos (Eastern Sea) will spawn on Saturday in the habitat Quartz-Terrarium
and Shellos (Western Sea) in the habitat Aquamarine Coast
. On Sunday, they will be out in the wild without a habitat. To get Shiny Gastrodon, you must evolve your shiny Shellos.
The shiny Shellos can be recognized by a light blue body (Eastern Sea) and a reddish body (Western Sea). These colors will also continue in the respective shiny forms of Gastrodon.
Wattzapf & Voltula
What kind of Pokémon are they? Wattzapf is a bug and electric-type Pokémon from the 5th generation that can evolve into Voltula. Just like Shellos, it will be found in its shiny form for the first time.
Where do you find the Shiny? During the GO Fest, you will find Wattzapf in the wild. On Saturday, it will be present in the habitat Pyrite Sands
. On Sunday, it will spawn again without a special habitat, so it can also be found without a ticket. To have a shiny Voltula in your collection, you need to evolve your shiny Wattzapf.
The shiny Wattzapf can be recognized by its greenish body. The protruding fur of Voltula is, however, slightly darker in the shiny variant than in the normal form.
Kommandutan
What kind of Pokémon is it? The normal and psychic-type Pokémon Kommandutan from the 7th generation celebrates its shiny debut at the GO Fest. However, this monster does not have a pre-evolution or evolution.
Where do you find the Shiny? Kommandutan appears for all players on Saturday in the habitat Malachite Wilderness
and will spawn again in the wild on Sunday. With some luck, you may encounter its shiny variant, which has a pink body.
Viscora, Viscargot & Viscogon
What kind of Pokémon are they? The dragon-type Pokémon Viscora and its two evolutions Viscargot and Viscogon will also be available for the first time in their shiny forms at the GO Fest. They come from the 6th generation.
Where do you find the Shiny? Viscora will spawn on Saturday within the Aquamarine Coast
for all trainers and will appear in the wild again on Sunday. But you have another chance to encounter a shiny with this Pokémon, as the little monster also appears in level-1 raids on both days.
If you want to secure shiny Viscargot and Viscogon, you need to evolve a shiny Viscora. You can recognize the shiny variants by their yellowish body and reddish belly.
Icognito M
What kind of Pokémon is it? A monster that must not be missing from the GO Fest is the psychic-type Pokémon Icognito in its various letter forms. This year there will again be a selection of different letters. While some of them have previously been available as Shiny, you can now also encounter the shiny form of Icognito M worldwide for the first time.
Where do you find the Shiny? Icognito will only be available to ticket holders during the event. The different forms will spawn across all habitats from the incense. With some luck, you may encounter a shiny blue Icognito M.
Is there an increased shiny chance? The chance for Shinys will not generally be increased. Only ticket holders can reportedly look forward to an increased chance. However, how high this will be is currently unknown.
How do you like the new Shinys that you can catch at the GO Fest? Will you go shiny hunting? Or are you more interested in other monsters? Feel free to let us know here on MeinMMO in the comments and exchange ideas with other trainers.
