In Pokémon GO you can secure new field research again in January. We at MeinMMO show you which tasks and rewards you can find and which monsters are most worth it.
What tasks are we talking about? In Pokémon GO, you have the opportunity to secure so-called field researches by spinning the PokéStops. These change monthly and adapt to the respective events.
The tasks revolve around different categories such as throwing, catching, battling, or interacting with your buddy, so there should be something for everyone. If you solve these, you will be rewarded with various Pokémon encounters or items. With a little luck, you can also secure one or the other shiny.
Field Research January 2023 – All Shinys at a Glance
What does the overview show? With the help of the data from LeekDuck, we will show you in the following graphic all the monsters that you can find in the quests from January and tell you which ones you can also catch in their shiny forms with a bit of luck.
How do you get field researches? You can find the quests by spinning the photo disc at the PokéStop. If you spin an appropriate task, you will find it in the “Field” view of your game, which you can access by clicking on the binoculars.
For solving, you now have unlimited time, but you can only keep a certain number of tasks at the same time. Currently, that is a maximum of four, including one AR task. If you want to collect more tasks, you have to redeem or delete the previous ones.
What are research stamps? If you redeem a task, you can secure a so-called research stamp once a day. With this, you can secure the research breakthrough after 7 redeemed quests, which gives you another Pokémon encounter. You can find your progress in the bar above the quests.

Which monsters are worth it the most?
Strong attackers: As in recent months, you can also secure a number of strong Pokémon through the quests in January. Since the monsters from research tasks generally have a higher IV, they are particularly suitable for use in raids.
Look out especially for Pokémon like Numel, Shuppet, Beldum, Magikarp, and Dratini. Their evolutions are among the best attackers in Pokémon GO. We will show you more strong monsters in the following video:
Magikarp: The water Pokémon not only has a strong evolution but also has its own medal called “Fisherman”. To reach platinum status, however, you must catch 1,000 large specimens. The research is easy to complete and could help you advance in your medal progress.
Pandir: The little pink bear is not particularly strong, but it can currently only be caught through field researches. It also has a total of 9 different fur patterns. Anyone missing form 7 in their Pokédex should definitely take the opportunity. With a little luck, you may even receive a shiny specimen.
