Which events are particularly worth it in February 2022?
Themed Events: Especially the Johto Tour may be worth it for you. Selected Shinys will appear more frequently in the wild, and there are strong bonuses you can take advantage of. The Johto Tour will be free to play, but you will get more content if you purchase a paid ticket. What you need to know about the Johto Tour. There are already some details about the other themed events in February:
- Lunar New Year from February 1: There are no details yet from Niantic, other than that the event runs until February 7. Last year, red Pokémon, lucky bonuses, a research task with Tauros, and a new mega-evolution were the focus.
- Valentine’s Day: The event runs from February 10 to February 14. Niantic teases that a fairy Pokémon with its evolution line will appear in Pokémon GO for the first time. This would also fit a find by data miners. Trainers believe they have already found the Valentine’s Day Pokémon for 2022 – and it will be creamy.
- Preparation for Johto Tour: The event runs from February 17 to February 25. Niantic explains that everything revolves around Poké Balls here. So, if you participate in the Johto Tour and want to catch a lot, you can stuff your item collection with balls during the preparation event.
Raids: The raids with Deoxys should be particularly exciting. For the first time, you can encounter shiny Deoxys in Attack Form, Defense Form, and Speed Form. Additionally, Niantic will provide you with up to two free raid passes daily from February 16 when you spin photo discs at gyms.
You should take part in the Mega Raids with Houndoom and Ampharos, as they are also strong attackers in raids.
Spotlight Hours: Unfortunately, the spotlight hours in February are not something we would particularly recommend at this point.
