The Highlights in February 2021 – What’s special?
As you can already see in the table, several exciting contents are coming up in February 2021. However, there are two highlights you should definitely keep an eye on.
Why they are so important and worth it, we present to you here:
The Kanto Tour
When does it take place? On February 20, 2021, from 9 AM to 9 PM local time.
Why is that good? Here, Niantic has come up with an event that is entirely focused on the first generation. Hunters and Shiny collectors will benefit. All 150 Pokémon from the first generation are expected to be found in the wild. And they should also be available in Shiny variants.
If you catch Pokémon from the Kanto region, you will also receive more candies.
The “catch” of the event is that there is a ticket for it, which costs €12. However, this is not mandatory to purchase. Even without a ticket, you will see more Pokémon from the 1st generation and can benefit from an increased trading radius.
What trainers experience with a ticket at the Kanto Tour in Pokémon GO and whether the purchase is worth it can be found in the linked article.
This is also worth it
The Spotlight Hours: Depending on the bonus, the various Spotlight Hours in February are worth it for you.
- On February 9, there’s double Stardust for catches
- On February 16, there’s double XP for catches
These are bonuses that anyone can take advantage of. Since most of you are still leveling up, the XP is important. You can never have enough Stardust either. A trainer has already reached level 50 in Pokémon GO.
Without a doubt, this is the highlight of the month for me that I want to participate in.
Other events like the Community Day with Roselia and the Spotlight Hours I will also participate in. But they are not as outstanding for me. Roselia is not new in the game and with the reduced hatch distance, it’s not particularly noteworthy.
