What comes next? Niantic has already announced the events that will start in January 2022. We have compiled them for you in another overview:
Which events are particularly worthwhile in December?
Research Breakthrough: The Research Breakthrough in December is according to the community “finally good again”. For months, players laughed at the breakthroughs, as they could rarely make use of the rewards. In November, trainers even referred to the breakthrough as “a new low.”
In December, you will receive Fraxure as a Research Breakthrough, and it is highly worthwhile for you, as its evolution, Haxorus, is really strong and an attacker you should not ignore.
Community Day: The Community Day in December 2021 will be huge and brings 25 Pokémon. The event is definitely worth it for you, as you will also find strong Pokémon like Duskull there. Make sure to make the most of both event days and catch and hatch as many Pokémon as possible.
From previous years, we know that the Community Days in December are among the highlights of the year. However, trainers have also noticed a problem with Feelinara on Community Day.
Bonus: Dragon Event: We list the Dragon Event here as a bonus since it is not yet clear what exact contents the event will bring. However, dragons are relatively rare in the game, so an event with these species should be worthwhile. Officially, Niantic states about the event: “From Tuesday, December 7, 2021, to Sunday, December 12, 2021, an event inspired by the legendary Dragon’s Descent in the Unova region will take place. More information will follow soon!”
Bonus: Christmas Event 2021: At the Christmas event, you will encounter costumed Pokémon, Ice-type Pokémon in the wild, special field research tasks, and winter clothing for your avatar. There will also be according to Niantic “plenty of bonuses”. So it sounds like this will be an event you should not miss.
Spotlight: This month’s spotlight hours are manageable and are recommended based on bonuses as every month.
Raids: Moreover, the raids are exciting for some of you, as you can now catch Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem as shinies. Shiny collectors should definitely participate in these raids and take their chances.
But it’s not just shiny collectors who find the raids attractive:
- Reshiram is the strongest Fire-type attacker
- Zekrom is the strongest Electric-type attacker
If you want to enhance your collection with strong attackers, you definitely can’t miss out on these two Pokémon. In our overview of the best attackers in Pokémon GO, we show you what makes them so strong.
