Recently, several new features were tested in Pokémon GO, and the first of them is now apparently available for everyone. But you need the latest update.
What kind of function is this? This function is the Quick Snack Button
, which you can now find on the screen with your buddy Pokémon.
When you click on it, you will simply see a white background screen featuring your buddy. Now you can feed berries to earn hearts and bring your buddy onto the map.
This saves you a bit of time and definitely one click: Previously, you had to either place and feed the buddy in AR mode, which takes a little longer and requires handling the camera. There was also an alternative Quick Feed Function
, but that required going into a menu first. Now you can skip that.
How do I get the function? If you don’t see the function yet, check your respective app stores to see if you can download a newer version of Pokémon GO. This is not a forced update, so you may have to download it manually. Once you have version 0.299.1, the button should also appear for you.
Previously, the function was still in a testing phase, but now it seems to be available for everyone. This gives hope that other practical functions currently being tested will also become available for all.
Which functions is Pokémon GO still testing?
Recently, several functions were started in a testing phase that make the game more practical or stylish. The quick feed button was one of them, and the others are as follows.
- Some trainers reported on the “Revive/Heal All” button that they can test. This allows you to heal all monsters that are injured or defeated at once, provided you have the necessary items.
- Additionally, there is a visual update for the catch screens, which some players can already test. This makes the game more visually appealing and apparently adapts to the surroundings.
- Furthermore, some have already been able to test the “Solo Raid Ready Button”. This allows you to shorten the timer in the raid lobby by clicking on “Ready”. This is already possible for everyone when in a group, but the solo option has not been available until now – unless you are one of the testers.
- Finally, the game gives tips on which attacks are particularly effective or, conversely, rather weak when selecting attackers. This helps when assembling raid teams.
You can read more about the tested features here. However, it is still unclear if, when, and in what form these features will be rolled out to all trainers. For now, it’s simply a matter of waiting. But with the quick feed button, at least one of the features is now available, which gives hope that other functions will come for everyone soon.
