In Pokémon GO, you can utilize new adventure effects and need to do so for a research task. We summarize how it works here.
Currently, Pokémon GO is hosting the global Sinnoh Tour 2024, which you can follow here in the live ticker. Part of this Sinnoh Tour includes raids featuring the primal forms of Dialga and Palkia.
What makes these two forms special is that they are not only very strong but also each comes with a unique attack.
- Primal Dialga can master “Roar of Time”
- Primal Palkia can use “Spacial Rend”
With these attacks, you can trigger an adventure effect outside of battles.
How to get Roar of Time and Spacial Rend? You need to defeat Primal Palkia and Primal Dialga in raids to catch them. For both, there is a chance that they will master their respective special attack. You are guaranteed to have it only for the monster whose path you selected in the “Path to Sinnoh” – Pearl for Palkia, Diamond for Dialga. For the other, you have to rely on luck.
Currently, the attack cannot be taught via TMs. Also, the normal versions of the monsters cannot learn the attack at this time; it only applies to the primal forms.
Important: In the event research “Time comes, Space comes”, you need to trigger the adventure effect of your respective monster. We will show you how to do this here.
Adventure effect “Roar of Time” and “Use Spacial Rend” – Here’s how
How do I use the adventure effect? You need to follow these steps:
- Go to your Pokémon collection
- Click on Primal Dialga or Primal Palkia
- Scroll down to “Adventure Effects”. This section is available for both under the normal attacks.
- Select “Use” to activate the effect. Now you can choose how many candies and stardust you want to use.
What does Roar of Time do? If you have Primal Dialga with Roar of Time, you can use 5 Dialga candies and 5,000 stardust to extend the duration of items like incense, star piece, daily adventure incense, and similar items for 6 minutes. This effect can be stacked; there is even an example where trainers extended the effect to 12 hours.
What does Spacial Rend do? If you have Primal Palkia with Spacial Rend, you can use 5 Palkia candies and 5,000 stardust to enlarge the encounter radius with wild Pokémon for 10 minutes. This too can be stacked.
If you succeeded, you will see a small timer on the side of your screen. Note that you can only have one of the two adventure effects active at the same time. Also, keep in mind that while the bonuses are useful, they are not necessarily cheap when it comes to candies and stardust.
Anyone looking to catch the two monsters should take advantage of the Sinnoh Tour, as it is currently unclear when Primal Dialga and Primal Palkia will return next. By the way, both are also worth it outside of the adventure effect: both Primal Palkia and Primal Dialga are very strong attackers.
